It's the the straight story......that ending changes the way you see the whole film. It's that ending the cements why all that happened n why saw the ride n understand why.
@epicurius12 жыл бұрын
I think part of the reason this episode hits is because so many episodes are about how Fry lost the world he knew, and has to deal with that, but this is the first really to show how the world Fry knew also lost him....that he did have people who cared about him and he did have an impact on the world, and when he was frozen, that affected the world around him. I'm not going to lie, I saw this episode when it first came out, and when Fry was kneeling next to the grave and the song came on, I just burst into tears.

Now this is one of the episodes where you realise it's not just all shits and giggles, Futurama curveballs you with a poignant story, most of the time driven by love, and it's those moments which cements its iconic status

This episode never fails to make me cry. They do such a good job at making you not like Yancy and when they pull the rug out, tears. I know everyone holds Jurassic Bark as the big tearjerker episode, but this one and The Sting just hit me so much harder for whatever reason. Easily one of the top 5 episodes of the show imo. Also, “Dirt doesn’t need luck” is such an underrated line lmaoo

My favourite episode in this entire series, though I know some people prefer a later episode... You all know which one I mean. Don't spoil it. The writers didn't want to do any serious episodes during the first 2 seasons as they didn't want to put people off, but because of how successful the show had become by the third season they decided it was time to test the waters and have a real tear jerker, and this is what they came up with. Futurama will always be my favourite animated show. Nothing has ever come close.

_Futurama,_ a silly comedy, but so much more than just that. Of course, the standard 5 day, 40 hour work week is crazy evil radical socialism, just like that commie 7 day week, implemented for bums who are just too lazy to work a 14 day week! (yes, this is intended as satire) “No fair! You changed the outcome by measuring it!” is still among my most favorite nerdy jokes in the series. At least, I’m almost certain it is.

@JohnDoe-kn7ex2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think that’s the case here. Growing up, many siblings will have constant fights or squabbles with each other and its a completely normal thing. I don’t think the show really indicates that he was only ever a piece of garbage to Fry.
@nullakjg7672 жыл бұрын
@@JohnDoe-kn7ex Yeah and people who had siblings like that end up not talking to them the moment they move out. Lots of people hate their family, it seems fry and yancy were just two more.
@JohnDoe-kn7ex2 жыл бұрын
@@nullakjg767 A vast majority of people with siblings don't end up severing ties with their siblings, but most siblings have at least some fighting. A sibling rivalry is completely normal and is in no way indicative of one of the siblings being "a piece of garbage" especially since we only see small glimpses into Fry and Yancy's interactions.
@nullakjg7672 жыл бұрын
@@JohnDoe-kn7ex This is not that. Fry literally goes on for 1000 years 100% sure that his brother hates him until he sees a statue. Whats the point of glorifying a sibling relationship if you literally have not one good moment throughout your entire lifespan? At very best, thats an abusive relationship. Sibling abuse is one of the most underreported and ignored types of abuse. Many children grow up in abject fear and terror, forced to share a living space with someone who torments them. I dont get any good vibes from this episode whatsoever. If you do thats great, but i wouldnt want to be your sibling.
