I believe Half-Life 3 is real and I'm sure that development started completely from scratch because the fans' expectations are simply too high.

Halo was only soft rebooted once because of H5. I liked Infinite’s story and that was the main reason it got a 87 on metacritic. Infinite ended with Atriox freeing the endless and big implications of mendicant bias. Halo 4 was not a soft reboot lol requiem was even teased in the legendary ending of Halo 3.

The style and look of 4 was essentially a soft reboot. 5 was a soft reboot from 4’s story. Halo Infinite was scores too kindly, I was shocked having been part of that review circle ahead of launch.
