I have never in all my years experienced a story that had such an emotional impact on me. I cried until the credits were done rolling. I even made my wife and friend play both games. My friend called me and he could barely talk through the tears. My poor wife, I haven’t seen her cry like that since a relative died years ago. She let the credits roll and I just sat there, waiting for her to say something. She finally got up and went to the bathroom, where it took her ten minutes of sobbing before she could even speak. Then she was still fighting back tears for the better part of an hour. Seriously, this was a perfectly executed story in every way. Let the haters hate all they want. The record number of video game awards seem to agree more with those of us who enjoyed it.
