This is arguably my favorite video of the New Hope playlist so far. Seeing my two favorite characters, Piccolo & Yamcha shining was epic. And the music that played during Piccolo's fight w/ Janemba was sick.

This shit is perfect. This is how you write a DBZ story. The author has kept the characters' identities intact, and gave them significant screen time! A story without Goku showing up at the end of the day and doing the same shit. Gohan got his shine in the last arc so it's amazing to see everyone else MATTER. And we're actually seeing conceivable matchups that would never be possible given the way the franchise has gone. Fantastic storytelling all around and an absolute perfection of the DBZ art style. The author and artist have so much to be proud of

Agreed. There are a few people crying about about humans being strong in this manga, but its not far fetched considering the gains they made when properly training, its just that they stopped. It is werid how a portion of the DBZ has a hate boner against humans being strong in anyway for some reason. It's kinda like the reverse of Sci Fi settings where they wank humanity to stand to toe to toe to civilizations thousands of years older. In the DBZ fandom, its human downplay all day everyday

I was hype as hell for Piccolo vs Janemba, and it was PEAK. I absolutely love how it runs parallel to the original fight with how Goku (Piccolo in this case) seems to be dominating the fight before we see Janemba take over, and yet the choreography of the fight is so different and fitting. You can see Piccolo from the original series doing all the things he did here. And the callbacks keep getting wilder and wilder, with how it seems that this version of Cooler and Pikkon actually fought. Can't wait to see how this progresses. A Piccolo Pikkon fusion maybe👀

Only because Akira Toriyama, and his successor Toyotaro, refuses to do anything with them. We've seen recently that they're strong enough to handle most minor villains, and there's enough tools in the series that the author/writer could easily make them SSJ 1-2 tier. And, Toriyama owns the rights to the filler villains like Turles/Slug/Cooler/Janemba, he could just as easily reintroduce them & make them canon in the modern series, just as he did w/ Broly. Again, they both just refuse to do so.
