Thanks! I’m just lucky to have cats that are as loyal as these two.

Love that you featured the cats so much in this video (worried about them against predators tho), as well as the XR250. You can install the solar in the camper without drilling any holes. Use double sided 3M tape to hold down the panels, run the wire through an existing hole and mount everything on plyboard and hold in place with straps. That's far more economical than buying a ready made all in one power station with much less capacity than your DIY system.

@@lawrencedavidson6195 I actually just built a cart with all of my solar stuff in it so that I can use it other places on the property if I need to. I posted pt1 of the solar cart build last week of you feel like checking it out. Part 2 is coming tomorrow👍

Their little feet can burn on the hot sand and rocks out there. May want them out only in mornings? Idk. They look like they can find shade pretty good. They look like miniture lions vegging under the rick cliff. Overlooking their new kingdom

Poor little toe beans. 😔 Yeah they’re good at finding shade. They love finding those hangout spots on the cliff! Reminds me of lion king 😂

The snakes, predators are a true concern. I would be mortified out there for them. But I get it, you are living out in the wild

The worry factor is huge! Maybe gps collars would make me feel a bit better.

Going from DC (panels) to AC (Anker) back to DC (RV battery charge) is inefficent. A fixed solar system is DC (panels) to DC (RV battery charge), and only then AC if you have an AC load that you need to power.
@zak_collings_offgrid5 ай бұрын
Yes. I disconnected the trailer batteries since the converter was constantly trying to maintain them and always had a load on the Anker. I’m about a month into running the Anker and I’ve learned it isn’t quite enough battery to constantly run the fridge. Also learned that my air conditioning trips breaker or failsafe in the Anker. Need to build the renogy kit asap.

Coyotes are even a problem here in the city where I live. I recently heard them described as canine cockroaches, and that fits well. They roam the neighborhoods at night, and fall and winter, all day long. I have lost a cat to them. My cat now is very smart, and comes in at night. She's very camouflaged in color, too. I would get at least one livestock guardian type dog too. Big tough ones, to keep the coyotes at bay. The snakes should move away regardless, as I don't think they want to be around cats either. Make sure they have high places to escape a predator readily available, and your cats will be living the life. I think it's so sad, that most think you have to imprison your pets and children. I'd much rather dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery. I don't recall who said that, but I honor all with it. If your cat's afraid, it can stay inside. Good luck on your adventure. New Subscriber here.

Coyotes in the city sounds crazy! A bit dangerous too. We get paid to hunt them out here but I would t put one down unless I caught it in the act of attacking me or one of my animals. I love that quote though and I live by it as much as possible lol. My cats are used to roaming freely wherever they are so at least I don’t need to worry to much about them taking off. Just need to figure out a good way for them to get in and out of the trailer as they please. Probably a cat door in one of the windows that leads to a catio for when I leave them alone out there.

Your biggest threat is probably coyotes. I've known many people that have lost a cat to one. They will even take out a small dog.
@zak_collings_offgrid5 ай бұрын
That is certainly my biggest concern. I have only seen one on the property and I rarely hear them at night but I know they are there. Thinking about getting a Great Pyrenees soon.

I would be worried about hawks but fortunately there a quite a few crows and I guess crows pester hawks. Crow lbs could possibly be a concern though.
