Appreciate the disclaimer at the start of the video saying there are 2 stories. It can be very frustrating when I click on the video expecting a long story only for it to end mid way. I hope this is the new norm for this channel moving forward.

Frustrating? Are you for real? Even if not stated, it shows where the story ends and also even If you don't look the moment a story end the narrator says NOW ON THE SECOND STORY, STORY TWO. So, your frustration is not a frustration at all, but a complaint. Complaining, cuz you're obviously lazy.

Here's a good example of those boundaries: "You respect them, or you never get to talk to me again. Simple as that. That means you trampling over what I want is a stressor on my life that I no longer want and am willing to cut you out. That is what a boundary is for, or both parties to have healthy distance. You have an unhealthy dependency on me, and two things will happen. I either lose my fiancé over the chaos that you introduce into our relationship and never have another SO because I'll be taking care of you until I am old and grey and you will never have a life outside of a coddled child crying for big bro. Or I cut you off right here and now because just like how she doesn't want to deal with or BS, I don't either. Now before you ask I'm picking option two. That is what the boundary is for. Now respect it."

That he could just stop or postpone the wedding after everything has been paid for by family and friends. Also, you have family that came from around the world which most people don't have money to do again, so it would be devastating that they came for your wedding to be there for you on your special day and won't be able to be there if you change the date last minute... Story 1: Therapy. Best way to learn how to set boundaries.

@MaliaMydnight

It's not always that easy, especially with BPD. After a 5 year battle, I'm in BPD remission, and I just now understand boundaries. BPD is an absolute monster, because your head is full all the time and NOTHING is solid or certain. Imagine a time when you were feeling an emotion so intensely, it was a very physical feeling. Now, imagine that intensity, with every emotion, and it switches with little to no provocation, and it does not stop. All the while, your head is so loud. It's like every sound, loud or quiet, is in your head on a constant loop. On top of all of that, when you're keeping on top of your therapy, you're doing all you can to self soothe, while trying to also convince yourself that the slight tone change, the smallest shift of body language, isn't a problem, it's okay. Doesn't always work. Then boundaries. All of the above is happening and more, and you set a boundary. It makes someone you care about mad, which is extremely troubling, because you don't want anyone upset with you, so you change it. Now someone else you love is mad. Rinse, repeat. Not to mention, when it comes about because of a not so fun childhood (BPD can be traumaborne or genetic), boundaries are a nebulous concept. It's a mess, and it's not fun at all, or easy. Therapy is what's gotten me into remission (and I'll eat all my shoes before I ever give it a chance to come back), but it's not a fix all. Sometimes it doesn't work, sometimes you need meds, and so on. Telling someone to go to therapy to learn and fix things is good, but I'm 6 years in intensive trauma therapy, and it can be like the saying, "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink", except the problem isn't the horse not drinking the water, because oh God, it's trying, but it has no idea what water is, or HOW to drink it. Boundaries aren't magically produced by therapy with those who've never been allowed to have any, nor do they understand the core concept (or any concept) of what they are. It took me over 37 years to finally understand and establish boundaries, and understand that if my boundaries piss people off, that's their problem, not mine.

@@MaliaMydnight Thank you for your insight. Mental health is a very important topic to me, and I love to hear the experiences of other people so I can better myself in helping them when I come across someone with needs. I am 35 with ADHD, so while there are vast differences, I can understand where you're coming from. We, too, can be stuck in intense emotional states, and with the many facets of the fısorder (like masking, hyper fixation, time blindness, etc) all working at once, it can be a mess to navigate and it took me 35 years to start grasping the concepts. But for me, my two biggest allies in such a challenge have been knowledge and therapy. Granted, I don't see therapy as a fix, but more like a tutor helping you to understand the concepts and encourage you in the process. I find people in general to be rather black and white; they see you as needing to be normal or needing to be extremely dısabled. So having someone there who can see all the shades of grey and who won't be (as you mentioned) pushed away as you try to grasp your emotions is very encouraging and has kept me sane a couple of times. Hearing the words "you are right to feel that way," while keeping up with my flippant tangents, has actually de-escalated me. But, like you also said, it's still up to the individual to put in the work and get things done. The reason I recommended therapy and boundaries in this case, however, was because the fiancé has gone his whole life not knowing how to find the strength to say no. And, having found a lot of horrible advice out there, I find that a therapist's assertiveness training tends to be the better and most guided method in learning to do so. Having gone through the same thing, it took me I believe 7 weeks of intensive therapy to reach a point where I could understand that no was an option, but it still took that push to get there.

While you can certainly be prescribed advil as a pain medication, usually when someone refers to their prescription as "pain medication" they are referring to a narcotic like vicodin or norco, which are addictive controlled substances. Sleep medication is the same way. It is a sedative, therefor usually a controlled substance. Stealing narcotics and sedatives is entirely different than stealing advil and melatonin. Think of it like the difference between petit theft and grand theft. Stealing "pain medication" also implies someone is a drug addict/drug dealer, so like I said, trying to make him sound worse than he actually is, or garner sympathy points for having to go without her "pain medication."

I hate to be the one that says this to you but this is the way your life is going to be if you marry this man your partner needs to put his foot down he is just trying this person's brother not as emotional support pet not his doctor his parents should be doing this not not his brother you have already been shown that you will never be first in this relationship you will always be second to his brother he is not ready to get married he is not ready to be a father or have children he's a selfish person with a selfish brother who wants to keep ruining these things to show that he can't he doesn't want his brother to get to get married to anybody he does not want to share his brother with you I mean look at the cats the wedding and he's trying he's supposed to tell you he's not home anytime his brother snaps his fingers he's there even if you're not feeling well he will leave you in a second to go to his brother he knows his brother is not dying he's only having anxiety and if his brother really wanted to go to the wedding he would be😊 bear his brother is manipulating him around his little finger he knows it and he is showing you where your place is just the fact that he would leave you having a panic attack to run to his brothers and show you exactly where you stand honey dump a boyfriend if you want to be with you he will make a stand and tell his brother I'm sorry I cannot be at your back home and call I have a family and where are the parents and all this why are the parents not taking care of their child to the point where your boyfriend has to Honey leave the man you're never going to be rid of the brother and you're never going to be first in your man's life I mean if you were in labor your boyfriend would jump up and leave you sitting there to go help his brother who's having an anxiety attack and tell you I'll be back just the fact that you're still thinking about marrying this June means you're not ready to get married either this isn't going to end in divorce and there's already enough the worst out there so if you already know your marriage isn't going to work why wedding the answer is don't get married😢😢😢

Lol... I kind of agree with that sentiment, they have enough on their plate as it is. But in fairness... Panick Attacks - Nobody is immune to these. If you have a central nervous system (as all vertebrates do) you are capable of having a panic attack. Thankfully, I've never had one, but I've seen them hit people out of the blue. Normal, well-adjusted people. It's not a mental illness. PTSD... If that was an actual psychiatric diagnosis, no problem. The self-diagnosed people can fuck right off though, lol. I've seen a lot of people who claim to have PSTD and have never even seen a psychiatrist. It's a big deal if you really have it, but many people who claim to, do not, and instead use it as an excuse. I don't know where OP stands on that, so I have to give them the benefit of the doubt. Melatonin, everyone's body produces this. Taking more as a supplement can help some people sleep. It does work, and is better than diphenhydramine (Benedryl) which is the other common over-the-counter sleep aid. And people have gone absolutely nuts on things like Ambien to the point of harming themselves and/or others. So if they're going to take something to help with insomnia, it's not a bad place to start. Emotional support cats... Yeah, that's going a bit far. Cats. Plural. More than one. Having pets can be calming for many people, I get that. But in that sense, what do multiple cats accomplish which one does not? I don't care if people have multiple pets, but they don't all need to be rationalized as therapeutic (unless she's working around some pet restrictions in her apartment, lol). If OP finds them helpful, I don't care, more power to her. But I am envisioning an absurd "crazy cat-lady" situation where she has a cat for every emotion. "Honey, have seen my economic-anxiety cat? He's the white one with the black patches. No, no, no... that one's black one with white patches, he's my fear of enclosed spaces cat, he always sleeps atop the dryer, next to my fear of rejection cat... Oh no, where is he? Honey, quick! Bring me my fear of losing one of my cats cat." That's probably not how it actually works, but that notion amuses me, so I'm choosing to believe that anyway, lol. OP has some issues. I hope they resolve to see an actual psychiatrist, not merely a general therapist, and they find a solution to their underlying issue instead of using contemporary facebook folk-remedies to play whack-a-mole with their symptoms. But they do seem like a good person who due to various circumstances, just hasn't found their footing yet. It happens, but a lot of people figure it out in the end and find what works for them, so I'm optimistic she'll get it sorted. If that stuff helps her, who am I to criticize? I have more respect for someone who takes the initiative and accountability to better themselves than someone who does not.

@Arkryal

@@prussianeagle1941In most of the world Psychiatrists are available for very cheap or free, including in the US. As part of their accreditation, they have to do pro-bono hours annually to keep up their association credentials. As it turns out, the mentally ill usually don't hold down lucrative jobs with good insurance, lol. The best psychiatrists in the world offer many of their services for free. They have other means of making money, like expert witnesses in court, court-appointed evaluations (paid by the state) paid speaking engagements, education, retainer fees to work for a specific healthcare system or hospital, consulting on books, film, TV, and gouging the idiots who don't need their services have been told they don't need their services, but insist on going anyway because it's fashionable... those people can pay $500/hr, lol. But that is not the norm. There are downsides to "free". You don't know who you're going to get as a doctor. You may be on a waiting list for a while, etc. Also, pharmacies must provide you necessary prescribed medications, if they can, regardless of your ability to pay. But they do not have to fill the whole prescription, and can go off-brand. So if you have a necessary medication and can't pay, you might have to go to a pharmacy on the other side of town (or more commonly one inside a hospital), and get a single day's worth at a time. They make it a pain in the ass, but they won't turn you away. It will just be extremely inconvenient, lol. So someone can get those services and medications for free in most of the world, but I agree, access is not always easy, especially for someone who has issues and would have difficulty navigating the various hoops they need to jump through to gain that access.

Top comment is a guy complaining about his own preferences. Frustrating? Feelings hurt? Are you guys for real? Even if not stated, it shows where the story ends and also even If you don't look the moment a story end the narrator says NOW ON THE SECOND STORY, STORY TWO. So, the frustration is not a frustration at all, but a complaint. An unnecessary complaint.
