I recorded Jools Holland last night as i wanted to see Jamie T. Accidentally pressed play at the start of this song. I then sat totally spellbound and open mouthed and watched a truly great front man performance. How on earth he managed to look heartbroken, crushed, and a 10 year old boy, whilst also looking like a wise yet cynical and furious man all in the space of a couple of lines is beyond me! People criticise his dancing and his facial expressions, but who cares. The most important thing in life and especially as an artist is to have commitment and passion in what you believe, and to stay true to yourself. A truly overpowering performance. He gave you everything he had and everything he believed in. I have watched this about seven times now and still not looked at the Jamie T stuff!
@curtisdoyle790810 жыл бұрын
Couldn't put it any better. Frustrates the hell out of me when people assume this is fake, rather than assume the man is passionate and not scared to let that passion loose. And they seem to think that they've just sprung out of the ground, rather than the actual truth - that they've been putting on shows like this for years in little clubs all over America and Europe. Kudos for awesomely summing up the performance he gave

His stage presence makes me wanna run down to the local boozer which has a karaoke on albeit on a cold and rainy night and just blast out some phenomenal shapes and not give a flying fuck what people think just like this wonderful man. Wow, I just discovered this song in the past few days as it's used in a TV commercial here in the UK currently and I was blown away by it so today I saw the commercial again, quickly grabbed a pen and wrote down what lyrics I could and then Googled them to see who the hell this band was! So, now I'm HUGELY thrilled to have found out who they, and their lead singer (with such a fantastic voice!) is and I'm over the moon! I noticed a comment from someone to one of their videos that they did this song on Letterman, so I just watched that video too (and am watching this right after that one) and for the first time saw them perform it and I'm even more blown away!! I think Sam Herring is genius - the lyrics to Seasons (Waiting on You) are profound, moving, and his performance on Letterman was captivating - freaky dancing (like a drunk dad having spasms dancing at a wedding!), passion and that growl! He reminded me a bit of Meatloaf who was also theatrical and blessed with an incredible voice and energy in his performances. Anyhoo, so now I'm hooked on Future Islands and want everything they've done and I'd love to see them live!!

Great performance from an artist who puts it across the way he feels right, all those people disliking this obviously haven't got a clue what they're talking about. Look at the stats,( likes against dislikes) just because this band hasn't been manufactured by a certain mr Cowell and doesn't tick your box go back to your crappy little world of music or nursery rhymes and listen to the likes of Cheryl Cole, she'll be right up your street.

I like the artist, I like the song, I like the studio version, but I sure do not like the performance and I think it falls completely flat. I could just about stomach the weird dancing, completely out of synch with the song, but the 'death metal' growling just leaves me cold.

This song has been played to death on BBC 6Music (I suspect it's on a permanent loop on Radio 2) and the presenters rave about it ..it leaves me cold. Rob Humble, so you're saying that if people don't like this song, then they must only like manufactured music? I'd hate to think I was into something not acceptable, please give us a list of artists we must like.

This is what I love about 'Later'. Something unexpected like this appears that's worth the whole year's licence fee. This was the performance of the season.

I was looking for another band on J. Holand’s show. Came across this. Couldn’t take my eyes off him. Three years later, I’ve completely forgotten about which band I was looking for but I keep coming back here once in a while to watch this guy puts his heart on display on a 2 by 2 area.

In these days of manufactured, no personality, posturing boy bands, truly magnetic performances are like hens teeth. The character in this guys performance utterly shone!!!!! Not only that, the song is superb as well. Along with myself, how many people were searching KZbin on New Year's Day for another helping of these guys?

The performance of this song was hilarious and jaw dropping. Absolutely brilliant and made my New Years Eve memorable. So many in work were talking about it. Very touching and a grand display of highly charged emotional madness and despair. Not bad from a man who looks like a Russell Crowe and Stephen Graham crossbreed 😃

First time I've clapped eyes on these musicians and I was memorised. What a great performance. This was both musically and visually astonishingly weird. But where's the fun in being normal anyway... Refreshing to see music and dance (I think it was dance) come together in one bazar mash of artistic pleasure
