Seeing these guys soon at Brixton Academy,. Am a fussy 62 year old, seen Bowie, Lou Reed, Morrissey and Gene live, hey these guys are the first band I have adored in years! they are fucking awesome and I make no bones about it, I prefer their live stuff and keep finding live vids here on youtube from their early days...yeah I'm hooked! What a frontman Sam is!

u know somehow I love the songs of this awesome band so much, that I do not even want other people to listen to them, because u need to be fitted to these songs and not just decay them among other songs in some playlist, but care with ears and soul.

What a song. A sort of irony I suppose that a song about loneliness and hopelessness ends with such a powerful affirmation of unity and strength. Poetic and beautiful.

It amazes me how I'm always into rock music, but Future Islands are my favourite band and no one can get near them. It's art, everything.

I listen to deathcore, man. That's my primary genre. But Future Islands are undeniable no matter what genre anyone prefers. They still aren't my absolute favorite band but they are A favorite. Their music makes me feel in ways I didn't know I could.

Catch me laughing Catch me drinking past the dawn Catch me singing Catch me beaming-open armed Don't watch me weeping Don't watch me weep into my palms Don't watch me leaving, I'll be gone Kiss me mother, Kiss me father Fore I go Don't want to leave you But I'm sorry... I can't hold And you see me, through the roses Through the lights and the smoke and the screen I'm no one better I'm no better than you and I'm scared Just searching for truth It's not easy, just being human And the lights and the smoke and the screens Don't make it better I'm no stronger than you and I'm scared I don't know what to do I'm scared That I can't pull through In the weak of my soul The temptation to look inside my wrist-it grows The cut is waiting The cut is waxing in its hold The clutch of nothing The curse of wanting Takes me whole And you see me, through the roses Through the lights and the smoke and the screen I'm no one better I'm no better than you and I'm scared Just searching for truth It's not easy, just being human And the lights and the smoke and the screens Don't make it better I'm no stronger than you and I'm scared I don't know what to do I'm scared But we can pull through-together Together We can pull through

the most underappreciated act going. such quality for years now. they've received some recognition, but not nearly enough. they incorporate elements of the past, but have carved out their own unique thing.

Spectacular band that deserves a much much better mix than this awful production. The sound of the drum is hollow and the bass has no body. Let the guy go.

that's funny, I did not notice that at all. I was captivated by the entire performance. But that could have effected my perception of things that may have been lacking. Maybe it's just the venue they're performing in? Poor acoustics?
