As always, interesting developments in the world of running!
NIKE unveiled a bunch of bizarre future shoes made with AI, one of which was supposedly a running shoe. I take a look!
A quick recap on the London and Boston Marathons which have taken place over the last couple of weeks.
Plus i check out some soon to be released or recently available shoe models including a new colour-way of the SC ELITE V4 from NEW BALANCE, some brand new colour-ways of adidas and puma shoes like the PRIMEX 2 STRUN and the MAGNIFY NITRO 2.

@@J_bixby Obviously he is also up there, but Bekele's all round ability from 1500m upwards is superior in my view. Plus XC! They had different peaks of course and Kipchoge has the edge at marathon, but Bekele achieved more and set more records. It's all personal taste!

Shout out to Andy Rayner, FOD Runner. A 2:57:52 for the London Marathon. A course PB. In 2024 in his age group that would of been good enough for him to qualify for the Boston Marathon. Such a nice guy and nobody deserves it more than him.

whoa...here in GDL (MX) we are 32C at 9AM and we run even warmer in the afternoon (not to mention our 1595M ASL... and that how we run and train!@ (today: 16K for me...) . All those AI shoe models are..bonkers!

1996 London marathon, I remember the guy on the tannoy at 9am, saying it was 21C and got a bit warmer during the race, I was chucking so much water over myself that my shorts kept falling down ! 🤣 First year I got under 3hrs, so was worth it.

I ran London marathon, got a club place after years of trying, the noice over tower bridge was better than people described, hairs on the back of your neck stuff, ran my first sub 3 too…perfect day.

I was a 330 pacemaker for London again this year...Was amazing although jam packed from the start to nigh on finish...Had the pleasure of running with Jeannie Rice for some of it who went on to run a world record in a staggering 3,33 as a 76 year old...phenomenal indeed...I came home in 3'29'32 Job done...Amazing experience

@@EDDBUD I used to live in Chicago and made a comment on one of his videos that I thought it was pretty amazing that he just keeps running year round. He said he couldn't imagine running in the North Carolina heat. I love running in heat, Chicago's cold weather might as well be Mars. I think I almost died a few times just trying to walk from Union Station to DePaul loop campus.

I was stunned and qualified for Boston back in September. My first Boston. It was a beautiful Spring day and sunny, got a nice sunburn on the face but I was in the second starting group and we started the marathon at 10:25AM which meant 3 hours in the mid-day sun vs other races when you start at 0730…didn’t go as planned but fun race.

Berkeley is my favourite athlete all time. Just remember he was unbeatable for a period over 5k and 10k track and on xc no one could touch him. On the road he is ultra impressive. Most of his times on the track were done before shoes and spikes technology evolved.

Boston marathon conditions were brutal. I was spectating, as my partner ran it. It got to 23'c, I got sunburnt. Runners were struggling and collapsing. I heard on local news that 77 people were in hospital afterwards.

Vomero is fine for that. Both adidas and Saucony are pretty rigid. I would go end pro 4 personally. Slowly integrate them into your training. 👍🏼

I found the weather in London actually quite good, close to ideal (maybe a bit too much of a breeze) but it showed in my time: a lifetime PB of 3.04.43 at the tender age of 63........beat my Manchester time from 9 years ago with over 2 minutes.

Eh? London Marathon weather was perfect. The wind had barely any effect and the temps were bang on! I did run it, 3:10 after a 1:28 first half was a bit too quick looking for that sub3. Lost 5 mins standing with cramp with 1km to go. Not a bad first marathon though

I ran Boston and felt it was more uncomfortable than hot. The earlier your wave, the better it was (I was Wave 2). That being said, I would have preferred it be 50 rather than the 72 degrees. And yeah, the weather can be crazy here in the New England. As Mark Twain once said, "If you don't like the weather in New England, wait a minute."

We say the same thing as Mark Twain about the weather in the Rocky Mts! Meanwhile, the official temperature in Boston was 73, but I heard that on portions of the course temperatures were closer to 80, though I haven’t officially seen that myself. I was in Wave 3 so even later in the day, and in my opinion it wasn’t simply uncomfortable…it was miserable! 23+ minutes harder for me than last year was in that nice, cool rain.
