I still have my original Matchbox Lion Voltron that I bought with my own birthday money. THE first time I saw the toy was before there was Voltron. When my mom cleaned houses, she would take me with her because I was little and the boy in the rich house had these robot cats. I was told that these toys came from Japan. I was blown away by how cool they were. It was after that when Voltron aired in the US. I need to get Daltanious to complete my Voltrons.

Dairugger was also my first Voltron. I heard that Daltanious was supposed to be Votron. The americans just said, buy the cartoon with the lion in it.

The lion face sculpt on the first release looks more menacing imo. There's trade-offs with both. I never had any of the GoDaikin robots as a kid, but a lot of my friends did and I always loved Daltanious. Very close to the OG GoLion in terms of overall coolness.

The original SOC Daltanias color was based on the anime. And it's very accurate. I'm also glad they made the R release resemble the old Godaikin/Popy. Def nostalgic for me too. Good enough reason to buy the figure again and keep both. My only nitpick is I wish they painted the crosses red/green like the Godaikin.

I had a similar robot that transforms into a tiger or lion or something. But I can't find the exact model anywhere. I remember that the robot also had a sword.

Lion Voltron was the first season of Voltron while Vehicle Voltron was season 2. The drop in ratings led to the cancellation of Triple Robot Voltron's season 3. There's a possibility that there is another connection beyond your personal one. Story has it that the president of World Events instructed his team to acquire the US rights to Toei's "lion robot show." There is some confusion if he was even aware of GoLion or if he had actually intended them to distribute Daltanious.

Did you just pronounce Gorion as “Go Reeon”?? It’s “Go Ra-ee-yon” as in Go Lion! “Go” being the Japanese word for five. His name literally means Five Lions.

Hello, i really enjoy your reviews. I was hoping you could help me with something. When i search on the internet on how many different versions of Voltron there are i get different answers. There is Voltron 1 and 2, there is lion voltron and vehicle voltron, there is the voltron we where suppose to get Daltanius. So i was just wondering if you could help clear this up. ( halfway through your video i paused it and bought SOC Daltanius, hope your getting a commission :) ) I would like to collect all the versions of Voltron made by SOC, so far i have lion, Vehicle and because of you i have Daltanius coming Thursday, so just wondering what else i have to get. I have always like the Gladius one with the 3 different colored dudes, anyways hope all is well with you and yours

You're almost there. There are 3 versions. Vehicle Voltron (Dairugger XV) Gladiator Voltron (Albegas) and Lion Force Voltron (Golion). Daltanias was supposed to be the Lion Force Voltron but due to a confusion, the end result was the Lion Force we know today. So while he is technically not a 4th Voltron, he was almost a Voltron. I don't get a commission but it helps keep channel going more than you can imagine so anytime you buy at BBTS try and use any link on my channel and they will count it as a hit from me. 98% of my channel is kept alive from that.
