Garnet saying "that'll kill you faster" when Steven dumps a bunch of mayo on his sandwich rather than pick up the knife is one of my favorite jokes in the show lol - it also highlights that Garnet's predictive abilities don't suddenly make her perfect at reading people, since that comment only upset Steven more and that was clearly not her intention

Amethyst's character is extremely personal to her VA, Michaela Dietz, because Amethyst's character arcs and development, as well as her personality, have a lot in common with being an adopted child. Michaela was adopted when she was young too, so she really poured her heart and soul into Amethyst and her pain, AND the joys that come with having a story like this. I also deeply resonated with Amethyst because I was also adopted, albeit as a baby and not a "child" like Amethyst was when she became a Crystal Gem. I can't wait til you see one of my favorite lil beans in this show grow up!

Garnet: "I can see the futuuuuure!" Yeah, this is one of those things that happens in this series that makes you want to rewatch everything because it totally recontextualizes *everything* that has happened. Few series pull off so many paradigm-shifting reveals as well.

Yeah so, remember when Garnet got really absorbed in that rhythm game at the arcade in an earlier episode? Yeah. And the way the other Gems tend to defer to her for final judgement about whether or not they should try something, or allow Steven to go with them on a mission. I love the way this reveal recontextualizes a lot of the previous season 1 episodes and Garnet's role within the Gems. Also, On The Run is a great one. We're getting into the good stuff now. My favorite episode is coming up and I'm really excited.

The whole concept of free will that was explored so deeply in episode 39 was so good and very well done I think! It isn't often talked about let alone portrayed in a way like this, and just seeing it be shown here between Garnet with her future vision, how she explains it works like a river that splits off, and how it all cultivates with Steven himself is fascinating!! The conversation between you two about it made it that much more interesting and invigorating like Alec said! Anywho, episode 40 was another rollercoaster in terms of exploring a bit more of the free will idea, while also mixing in your own individual birth circumstances and that having an impact on who you turn out to be in a way, to call back to what Lu said about that. That episode itself hit way harder for me just because I haven't seen season 1 in so long, and did a good job exploring Amythest as a character a bit more, while also adding a little bit of lore and backstory to the gems and their involvement with Earth. One of the things I love about the first season of Steven Universe is how they set up certain plot points in a way that isn't too revealing but makes past moments become so much clearer when they come up. The way character dynamics and just how they're written development-wise is very nice too and shows how much detail was put into making season 1 of this show. Also, I agree with the fact that Michaela Dietz deserves all the praise and an award for her work in voice acting Amythest, she did a great job in this role!

Slipping in a little Junji Ito there. Also the absolute shift from - silly waffles and dubstep strawberries to the absolute gutpunch that these episodes were is great. Amethyst's voice actor did such a phenomenal job I agree.

~ Steven Universe Future is an epilogue series that takes place after a time skip. Viewing order is Steven Universe S1-S5 (SU), then Steven Universe the Movie (SUM - aka, M* M** w** a B****), then Steven Universe Future (SUF). ~ Amethyst's self esteem issues are returned to several times throughout the series. Keep this episode in the back of your head! :D ~ Michaela Dietz (pronounced Deetz) often gets overlooked since she's like... the ONLY voice actress on the show (outside of Ja####'s[?]) that doesn't have a singing/musical background in any way.

You need to try and reign yourself in a little more, you tend to explain the plot moments before it actually gets to it, thus spoiling it and making your friend lose out on figuring it out himself.

I don't care how lame it is, telling them to skip ANY episode is denying them the full experience of watching the show, and thereby denying us the full experience of watching them react to it. Also, I enjoyed the Uncle Grandpa crossover.
