It really bums me out when I see all you people criticizing him for achieving something he probably never though he'd ever achieve. The beautiful thing about this song is that anyone can relate to it. It's not about "hipster" music or "indie" culture, just a heartfelt and emotional track. This man wrote and recorded all of these songs himself. Only 2 or so years ago, no one really knew about him, he went from nothing to playing sold out shows.
