“They told us Fort Azimuth was a paradise…” Arny said, before taking another bite of his food supplement bar. “I know.” Fria sighed. “Will we be stuck here forever?” Arny asked. Fria looked up from her rancid coffee, no doubt laced with rust fibres from the metal can she sipped it from. “As long as their anti-aging machine still works, yes”. Arny’s face turned to disgust. “Someone has to do something. Maybe that someone should be us. Think of everyone back home on Osirin, being fed lies every day about Retirement. Do you want them to join us here, toiling to near death, just to be anti-aged and sent back to work?” They both paused as the intercom above their table announced the start of the work day, wishing the Fort’s residents a “joyful day in Retirement”. Fria looked up to meet Arny’s hopeful gaze. “Ok. Where do we start?”

Superb visuals and vibes! Only issue is if you watch enough Prof Brian Cox documentaries you begin to realise that planetary bodies in such close orbit to each other would create such tidal forces that at least one of the planets would be squeezed and squashed to create a Hell world of volcanism.

Love it, Adam! Especially the idea that when they are de-aged they maybe don't remember or something, and so they have no idea how long they've actually been there. That opens up some really cool narrative opportunities :D
