Thak God MJ has people like you to unravel the unnecessarily overcomplicated ball of string they have inflicted on their users.

This is very helpful. I've been ignoring Mood Boards, cuz I'm lazy and because I didn't see the point. Now I'm a convert. Thank you.

Very helpful. tysm! I like the idea of turing the sref into a moodboard and comparing them.

moodboards can be composed of a 100 images, doing that with --srefs would be insane . the diversity of images in the moodboard will output more diverse images, because the source is a larger pool. Subject bleed might be stronger in --srefs if the images are fewer.

Yes that's a really good summary! Thank you

I guess mood boards are MJ's answers to pre-trained LoRAs and image embeddings in Stable Diffusion?

Great tip! Sref codes are not allowed in Retexture mode in the full editor but moodboards are. So your method suggested here is the workaround to that.

Yah that's a good idea!

Hey thanks for the video, it's good to test this feature to show whether or not they are redundant. I haven't read all the comments below, but in my opinion the main difference between moodboard and the sref code is that the moodboards when used tend to transfer also how the image and the subject in it are framed, while the sref code has less of this transfer. Same is between image sref and sref code. In fact image sref and moodboards are more redundant than sref code. You can see this in your cat example at the end. Although I have to say this isn't always noticeable, it's quite random. Hope I am making sense! Cheers
@FutureTechPilot7 күн бұрын
haha yes and I agree, quite random indeed!

You should do a video on remix and regional variation. Easily the two most powerful tools in MJ.

this is a cool idea to do an A/B/C test on sref vs style ref images vs moodboard... im gonna have to play with this myself

I love the moodboards .. I do wonder if the order in which the reference images are place when using as style references or are placed in the mood boards influences the outputs?
@FutureTechPilot11 күн бұрын
It's an interesting thought! I don't believe so, but the last time I tested that specifically was probably a year ago, so maybe things have changed!

Interesting, I’m running some tests and managed to mix a moodboard with a style reference. Have you ever tried something like this?

They just added that as an update last night!!
@jcmc111111 күн бұрын
Now you can mix moodboards and sref, did you try that??? Was this video made before that update? :o

haha unfortunately made before the update yah, but I'll try to make another post or something about that soon!

moodboard is missing for niji 6. (In the sense of automatically applying an anime style without manually rewriting the code) Can you tell them? I know you are not a fan of niji at all, but there are users who like niji. In v6.1 you have moodboards automatically. Can you talk to the moderators and tell them that moodboard must work (automatically, not manually) on niji 6? I also don't like to be careful to copy-paste the code into my prompts.
@FutureTechPilot11 күн бұрын
haha I love Niji! But I'm afraid I can't help, I don't have contact with anyone on the Midjourney team

I notice the sref# is gone when you attach the images for the style reference. Is there a reason for that? I'm kind of new to this so sorry if it's a stupid question. 😬😅
@FutureTechPilot11 күн бұрын
Not a stupid question! It's just a 'different' way of using the reference ... you can either use the code or the pictures themselves
@shaunclapham293611 күн бұрын
I don't understand the point of the --seed #.. you should show people unfamiliar with how to generate a sref code for I don't think it creates it by default. Great work though.
@FutureTechPilot11 күн бұрын
Sorry if I skipped over some things! --seed is used to isolate the random variable, so if you prompt with the same words on the same seed #, you'll get the same pictures. Which means we can keep the seed number the same and then change some words or other parameters to test the differences. Hope that makes a bit of sense

Unless I missed it in the video, a key difference with moodboards and style refersnces is that style references are a luck-of-the-draw random result, whereas moodboards are manually curated. Once you have the codes for either, the results are similar, but how you got there depends on whether you wanted to be the driver or let Midjourney take the wheel so you can enjoy the ride.
@FutureTechPilot11 күн бұрын
Hey that's a good way of looking at it!

A srefcode also affects your composition. Thats why "Batman" isnt getting any different results.

I love your channel and you inspired me to become a MJ customer, but after one month usage of MJ with an annual pro plan, generating about 1000 images by prompting with my own hands on the MJ website using my own profiles and moodboards, which is really amazing, I got banned without any comprehensible reason. They just assuming that I used scripts, tools or whatever for automation. That is not true at all. I was just addicted by the results and for an unlimited relax rate 1000 or a bit more images should not be a reason to be shut down. I contacted the billing support of MJ and I got only a ticket number and the message that they have an overload of requests. So I am blocked from MJ and keep waiting for how long ever. And nobody can help ...
@FutureTechPilot9 күн бұрын
Super frustrating for sure!! But if you didn't use any automation then hopefully billing support can help you out sooner than later!
