Finally someone said it. Ashitare was one of the most successful of the Seiryu seven. He succeeds in killing one of their enemies and he retrieves a priceless treasure. Does Soi do that? No. Does Suboshi? No. Does Tomo? No. And what's Ashitare's reward for this success? Gets casually murdered by Nakago and no one even remembers him. Would be funny if they remade this whole story from the point of view of Yui. And the loss of Ashitare was a big tragedy while Nuriko was a: "Oh well, he was on their side, who cares."

Nakago pretty much ruined what was, really, a brilliant plan by showing Miaka that he knew why she had come. If he had played ignorant, saying something like, "Oh it's you. Are you still hoping to talk to Lady Yui, that you can somehow convince her that you're still friends? Or have you come to finally surrender to us, knowing that we so easily were able to take the Shinzaho from you?" Then he could have whittled away to her revealing the reason she was there, and defeated her that night. I'm not saying I wanted to watch that happen, but Nakago has been so clever in his manipulation until this point, yet by revealing that he was waiting for her, when he logically had no reason to be, he practically advertised that he had set a trap for her. Of course Miaka is too naïve and foolish to deduce this on her own, but that's exactly why it should have worked. Then, as usual, he straight-out tells her that it was all a deception. Classic villain gloating and stupidity. Gloat all you want after your opponent has been taken out, you numbskull!
