FW-190 vs Spitfire - IL2 Sturmovik

The 190 Anton is very capable with practice in a close in, slow dogfight even with a on paper more maneuverable opponent. As Sputlegin demonstrated, patient flying and keeping calm, using that beautiful rolling capability of the 190, and waiting for the opportunity to use the heavy massive punch of its concentrated firepower, is devasting.

Never seen a 190 fight like this... all slow speed and right on the edge and a bit over it. Your typical slow speed, climbing spiral doesn't work as well as it does in the 109. Would have been great to see your airspeed indicator pasted in a corner. Spitfire had no ammo? What models of each plane? Superb flying.

This was one of only a couple flights in the 190 for me. I lost control and visual a few times yep hah. It's less stable than the 109 when pushing it. Found that out the hard way lol. I found the 190 much faster than the 109 in the spiral and I could relax on the stick. We both had lots of ammo. I took quite a few hits on my tail throughout the fight. We were both exhausted towards the end and made a lot of mistakes. D9 & MKIX. Cheers ☺️!

@@sputlegin Ahhh, the D9. Thought the A8. Is the D9 a better spiral climber than the 109... K4?

@@knightonwarbeck1969 I don't know if it is man lol. Still pretty new at this . It's different. lol. It's heavier but feels like it snaps when you roll it. And it feels fast at everything that it does. even that climb., Definitely didn't gain the altitude like the 109 but I got fast and far away from him quickly! The gun is great! One hit!

The Spit engine over heat faster than the 190 in a dogfight.

Its the DOra, is more than a energy fighter than the Anton so, It can be played a bit like a 109

Which FW190 and which Spitfire? Makes a big difference!! Spent most of the time looking a empty blue sky and green fields. When I did see the Spit it looked 3 miles away, upside down, pointing in the wrong direction and doing something other than aerial warfare. This could only be worse if it was in B&W.

That Spit pilot was afraid to pull some Gs for some reason. Spit is a turn fighter down low especially against a 190.

battle against AI is just target practice. Get on a server and battle real players. Never turnfight with a spitfire, and never turnfight as a FW190.
