FW450 3D RC Helicopter H1 GPS Heli Autopilot Flight Endurance Testing

Today I test the Flight endurance of FW450 H1 GPS 3D RC Helicopter using a 4S 2600mAh lipo battery. I will fly normal and inverted and perform some routine practice on 75% throttle only. Helicopter offered a very good 16 to 17 minutes of flight time before the battery failsafe RTH activates.

Ali...If the FW450 is in the inverted mode and the battery gets low RTH, will the Heli automatically gain altitude and auto flip into normal flight position and land on its own? Or do you have to tell it to flip into normal flight mode and manually land it?

Hi.. If you do some flip in idle up mode.. And lost control or orientation.. You leave the stick centered.. Will it hover itself? If say from upright to inverted.. You let go.. Will it hovering inverted?

you need to switch to GPS no matter inverted or normal when you make mistakes and it will hold position, but you might need to control the pitch immediately if you are inverted so it can rise up.

Hi Ali Thank you for your utube footage it has helped me decide to buy a FW450 RTF .I received it a few days ago and experienced that it was not bound to the FS-I6S RC.Keen to learn as I am a novice I followed down the track of binding the heli with the RC and got there but at no time could I get main and tail motor to respond. I have since set the RC to factory settings big mistake. Can you help a lost soul or guide me to a FW 450 Manual any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

yes, it does. you can go full manual 3D mode or fly in GPS. your choice. GPS is good for learning and even flying FPV and Aerial Filming. Wait for aerial film shot with this Helicopter and you won't believe it.

The spec sheet says it uses a 3S 5200 battery. But you're using a 4S 2600. Why ?

3S is only for normal flight. can't do 3D as it does not offer enough power. 4S can perform 3D as well.

So far I have not seen anyone using it on Nitro heli but factory told me they have tested it on nitro helis and it works. however vibration damping is very important because engines have way too much vibration for the gyro

Hi Peter, yes, but please please please do not reset the transmitter or you will be in trouble. some people thought the same and reset transmitter to factory setting and can't program it again. What you do is power on everything. put helicopter in open area (I assume you have done compass calibration needed only first time) wait and when all GPS satellites locked, you will see solid Green light on flight controller. make sure switch flight mode is on GPS. and Arm switch is off. Now hold the Throttle (Mode to radio, left stick) down and left (/) for 3 seconds, and leave it. now you will see That solid LED green color is blinking. now you can flip the arm switch and rotors will start spinning. once they get good rpm, increase the throttle and it will take off and hover. let me know how it went.

Just tested the FW450 and using the included 5200mah 3s lipo after 15 minutes it returned to home which I assume was due to low battery. I checked the lipo and there was still 54% power left! Tried a 2800mah 4s and only managed 7 minutes then it RTH again, battery was 50% ! Any ideas please? Not sure if the transmitter RX icon works as in both cases it showed as still full!

@@alishanmao Hi Ali, regarding the reduced flight times I am experiencing, I have looked at the online setup and there is no facility for setting the 'parameters' which is where the cut off voltage can be reset. I have the H1 Lite FC fitted to the FW450, as yours has in your video. It seems you can change the H1 Heli but not the H1 Lite! Can you help please?
