Back in the 90s we did this all the time - we called it "doing the funky chicken". I had a Concept 30 IC powered heli throw the radio battery out on impact leaving the throttle on almost full bore. It took quite a few minutes for the clutch to finally burn out and allow me to go pull the fuel line off.

That was part of the fun back then 😂

That's what we in the RC heli hobby call the "chicken dance". Only way to stop it quickly with a nitro heli is throw a coat or jacket on it, then run up to it and yank the fuel line off.

I love 3D helicopters, it's my favorite RC models to fly, especially the 6CH ones.. I don't like the GPS helicopters, I'd rather stick to the original way to learn.. Which is... Try take off, crash before helicopter lifts off the ground. (Chicken Dance).. Then repair the helicopter!! Try fly and crash again! Cry for a while, and fix it again! Then take off and crash... Laugh about it, and cry... Fix it again!! Fly it and enjoy, then crash and fix it as it's a routine already.. Honestly half the fun is to repair it and maintain it, the other half of the fun is to fly it! It toom me 2 years to learn to hover it in all orientations, and another 1 year to fly it 3D style properly without crashing it.. Now I don't crash much at all, can't even remember when I last crashed, lol.. Anyway it was fun to watch the helicopter being destroyed like that, laughing like crazy here really.. Shouldn't have let the newbie fly such a beautiful machine, or at least you should have explained better how to operate it.. LOL SWEET Keep well and be safe bro!

13:04 this is known as "chicken dance" and it usually happens to nitro/gas rc helicopters. RC Helicopters are a lot easier to fly with auto gyros these days. I built a Morley Bell 47G with 6.5cc glow engine (designed by Jim Morley) in the late 1970’s early 1980’s and without gyros it was like balancing a ping pong ball on top of another ping pong ball, in a breeze. Took me a couple of months to grasp the hover.

Eh better malfunction then my cheap Hubsan quadcopter it took off with 100% throttle & forward on its own after i switched batteries in the remote by accident too some weak ones near a electrical box (used rechargables & forgot the radio on and discharged those, brought out a pack of unopened aaa's)& i never saw that damn thing again, it flew so freaking high... I don't know if someone else was flying a hubsan quadcopter of some sort that was a bit fancier model & pressed like a go home button or something because it just took off on me completely... I'm sticking too either a cheap plane or two & ground vehicles, at least then I'm not helplessly watching 250 sek take off never too be seen again, i had it for maybe 2 months...

I suspect it was because you tried to take off in 3d mode as it looks like it wanted to flip upside down as you throttled on ,could be why it vibrated gyros where confused . Does it say anything in the book about modes you have to take off in .

@schubimz4 жыл бұрын
I would never give this thing to a beginner. Too big, too much danger especially since it doesn't even seem to do what it's supposed to do. Better to learn helicopter with buddy box or if you're alone with a micro like the blade mcp s. If you learn with the micro size you can fly over grass and cut the throttle if something goes wrong and usually it won't even take any damage, contrary to this one. More weight, more potential damage.
