This had so much hope and so many potentials. Why did it fail? It looked like it was working. What went wrong? The lack of progress on the Pure Tone frequencies could be point toward the drug only affecting the inner hair cells which is where speech is centered. I would love to see a follow up video!!

Hi, I am a deaf person with senso neuronal loss. I am really interested in the ability to improve speech perception more than audibility because I can get it from hearing devices, but, speech perception is almost impossible to reach. Therefore, if the second trial tests experiments shows consistently the 10% improvement, when will be commercially available the drug? Is there any possibility to be part of that experiment despite my native language is spanish? Thank you very much for your possible answer.

@@lektor8987 I haven't noticed any side effects, but I will say the injection wasn't very pleasant. The initial injection wasn't too bad but the pressure put on my inner ear from the medicine being pushed in was pretty uncomfortable. It's basically like having the worst ear ach you've ever had for a few minutes as the medicine flowed to where it needed to go.
