Hi, when I try and connect my cg50 to my computer, I get the same display that you did at 3:57 however after selecting f1, it goes to the same screen that you got for about half a second and then says 'updating main menu' and then 'complete - press exit' all within the space of about a second. It doesn't connect to my computer as there isn't any USB device and I've tried with two different cables and two different computers. It seems like it disconnects very soon after it connects and whilst the calculator recognises the pc for a second, the pc doesn't recognise the calculator at all. There isn't any green line around the edge of the calculator so exam mode isn't on. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Before you hit F1, have you looked on the computer to see if your computer is giving you a message that the device is connecting? After you hit F1 is when the drive appears. It will be a 'drive' (like an E or F drive depending how many drives you already have on your computer) ) on the computer. Won't actually say 'usb' on the computer - it will just appear as an extra drive in your list (usually at the bottom). It should work, so not quite sure why it's not. If still having the problem it might need to go to our technical folks (which I am not!!) (For Technical support in USA at 1-800-435-7732 during regular business hours (currently Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. - 8:00pm EST for all products, Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m) Or email maybe, since offices are shut down for COVID so not sure who is manning the phones. Also - when you disconnect (eject), you will definitely get that message you are getting on the calculator. The whole point of doing this is to exit out of Exam mode - so is your calculator out of exam mode? If so, then everything is correct!

If I put the calculator into exam mode does the calculator automatically become an non programmable calculator?

Yes, you cannot write programs or execute programming in Exam Mode. ^Dave
