Hi mate can you explain me one thing I watched a lot of air gun videos and they always recommend the muzzle velocity should be around 900fps regardless of the gun being 30-40-60 or 100 foot per square inch if all of them can push 900fps then what is the point of the gun being different power it will be pushing the pellet at the same speed

It will cost you $500+ bucks to change the caliber of your gun and about $200 to change the twist rate. That is whenver those products make it to the market.

Heavier pellet needs more power if you over power the .22 it will throw the pellet all over after testing diffrent powers these are what they maxed out at for the diffrent calibres

Hello Jared, excellent video, I'll tell you I buy an FX Crown Cal .25 and I have 3 questions, which I hope you can answer me, because in Chile there is no official representative. 1.- What is the useful life of the air cylinder? 2.- The supplier from whom I bought the rifle recommends adding a drop of synthetic oil to the interior of the rifle's fill, is that correct? I have known that the condensation and oil mixed form impurities. Please, refer to the subject. 3.- Do you have any document or explanatory video on how to perform rifle maintenance? Please your help. I look forward to your response, Thank you

I have the FX Wild Cat and love it I am sold on FX Products Axle does a great job. My wild cat is a work horse I have killed tons of squirrels with it. It makes a hundred squirrel day in two hours. Thousands of rounds down the pipe no problems. The Crown looks like another great rifle. Buy one and you will never need another gun.

What would be the main difference between the FX BOSS vs FX CROWN ?
@dmc31405
@dmc31405 4 жыл бұрын
The only thing I don’t like is the height of the magazine. And the result in having to raise the scope. Reduce the magazine capacity, and the cost per magazine. 10-12 rounds is plenty. Other than that it’s an incredible rifle.
@molecatcher3383

You got 11 ft-lbs on TP 1 with HSA on Min. This is equal to 24% of the maximum power (45 ft-lbs = 100%). I hope that somebody will make a table that shows the power percentages of maximum for all the different power setting combinations of TP and HSA. The table should include the HSA letter settings A,B C etc.

So if I have the .25 version of the Crown can I change it down to .22 cal? And if change it to .22, the .22 is shorter, so how will the 22 barrel interact with the .25 cal shroud?
@JPoleet
@JPoleet 6 жыл бұрын
You've got to buy another barrel, probe, and shroud (about 500+) in order to change caliber, and about $200 to change the twist rate. Might as well buy another gun and not worry about changing the POI everytime you switch.

so far I'm not having too much luck with my crown. I'm shooting at 20 yards. Compared to my wildcat where I can hit 12 out 12 bullseye. my crown will hit 8 out of 12 bullseye. the tank is to off, regulator left at factory setting 140 pounds. transfer port 3 and power wheel was set to max but I currently have it at 4. Ted describes harmony and with the power wheel set to 4, I think it is what he is describing. im shooting job mkii
@darkiee69
@darkiee69 7 жыл бұрын
Try shooting some JSB exact king 25,39 grains instead. That's what the FX factory use. And being a new gun it will take some time to wear in too. The harmony that Ted talks about isn't something you can learn from a youtube video, it's something that comes with experience. Ted's been shooting tens of thousand pellets down range, that's why he can hear and feel that harmony. Change ammo and reset the factory settings and see what happens. Check out this video too: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqCUeXdjadd1bbs

The old split playing card trick is impressive to the inexperienced or inattentive "shooter" but if you can't split a card with a scoped rifle at pistol distances withing a few rounds at most, you need to keep practicing until you can. Either that or find a better rifle and/or scope. Splitting cards is more about precision than accuracy, anyway. And the "trick" is to see the card the way the bulllet "sees" it. A target basically just under twice as wide as the bullet itself.
@airgunsofarizona
@airgunsofarizona 7 жыл бұрын
There is no smoke and mirrors here. We challenge you to attempt to shoot an airgun at 50 yards outdoors and split a playing card cleanly in half along its edge. We were are highly experienced with airguns and it still impressed us. The fact that we did so in only 2 shots was amazing.
@frankcoldwell4424

Since when has 50yds outdoors been pistol distance?
@deeremeyer1749
@deeremeyer1749 6 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure pistols have ALWAYS been "outdoor" guns and 50 yards is the "long course" in NRA Bullseye competition for starters. Has been for many decades. Were you under the impression that the whole world is "indoors" just because you're some kind of shut-in? Or are you an air gunner who thinks 50 yards is "rifle distance" because that's max distance used in "air gun reviews" like this one? Whichever it is or even its neither, the fact is that you and me obviously come from way different "backgrounds" and "different planets" is maybe a better term. In MY "shooting universe" since its fairly "standard" to "Sight-in" and/or "zero" rifles at 100 yards, 100 yards on out is "rifle distance" but that doesn't mean its BEYOND "pistol distance".
@deeremeyer1749
@deeremeyer1749 6 жыл бұрын
I didn't say its "smoke and mirrors". I said its easier than it looks and if you want to send me one to "review" I'll gladly shoot it until I split the card. Might take more than two shots but I've been shooting "real guns" for 35+ years and have a safe full of guns from a trio of .22 rimfire rifles alll the way up to my Armalite AR-50 .50 BMG. I'm not going to be TOO intimidated by your air rifles. My "first gun" was a Crosman CO2 semi-auto "air pistol" but it came along several years after .22 and .410 "plinking" with some family members had begun my "shooting career". I'm pretty new to handguns and only purchased my first since that Crosman (Remington R1 1911) 5 or so years ago but I've since added a Les Baer Custom 1911 thats a guaranteed 1.5" group @ 50 yards pistol, a Springfield Armory XD(M) Compact 3.8 in .40 (the M stands for "Match", a GSG .22LR 1911, a Kimber .22LR conversion kit for my other 1911s, a Ruger Blackhawk "Convertible" in .45 with cylnders for .45 ACP and .45 Colt, a Ruger Single Six Convertible .22LR/.22WMR, a Ruger Mark III .22-45 Target factory Ducks Unlimited pistol that's supposedly 1 of 382 or so made and my "old beater" Ruger P89 9mm. And I almost forgot my "fun gun" AR15 "pistol" I "built" several years ago for shits and giggles. 7.5 inch barrel, cheap Chinese "reflex sight and the damn thing still cost more to build than most of the AR15 rifles I've put together. I did manage to smoke a couple prairie dogs with it at 70 and 100 yards once day "benchresting" on the ground. And I've popped one with my R1 and I've never done any serious practice or "plinking" with my handguns INSIDE of 25 yards and when I was shooting several times a week and was "decent", I'd back that up to 40-70 yards and once in a while 100 or so. I started reloading/handloading right after I bought my first pistol and then started "salvaging lead" with a "screen table" out at the local "range" (and old gravel pit) where a short but busy day of shoveling gravel and sand and sifting netted me a good 200-250 pounds of "previously enjoyed" bullets easily melted down, fluxed, cleaned and poured into ingots as required. I cast a couple different .40 bullets and I think three different .45 bullets and still need to get a 9mm mold. I currently load I believe about 10 or 11 pistol and rifle cartridges including .50 and have dies for a few more I've loaded for friends/family. I also "convert" cartridge cases to make .300 Savage from .308 Winchester brass and I have a "home made" AR15 in 7.62x40 Wilson Tactical I made case for using 5.56x45. That's a proprietary cartridge of Wilson Combat and pretty much the same as .300 Blackout with a 6mm longer case and nowhere near as many whining, noob "fanboys" complaining there's "no ammo" which is pretty much ALL .300 Blackout shooters. My first "long-range" shooting was with that R1 one day when a buddy took me to a "secret spot" he and his brothers did some shooting at. West of Peetz, CO where the "table" drops off to the South Platte River valley at a "ridge" not exactly on top of a "cliff" but still a pretty steep drop down to the valley about 50-60 feet below. 500 yards (they'd measured) out from that "shelf" there was and probably still is an old 50-gallon drum a handful of yards from an old windmill and cattle tank. He dared me to try to hit that barrel with my 1911. I literally was shooting up at at least a 25--30 degree angle seeing nothing but clear blue sky while he "spotted" and it took me damn near every round of .45 ACP I had with me and I THINK it was right at the end of my third 7-round mag that he said he THOUGHT I'd hit it and I'd actually looked up after that shot and saw a puff of dust well BEHIND the barrel and figured there was no way. But we went down to look and found a fresh and roughly half-inch hole in the front and no "exit" in the back because it was all rusted away and back about 5 or 6 yards while I was looking at the bullet hole he found a "fresh" 230-grain FMJ that was "still warm". Those bullets are damned near indestructible hitting anything at that range any anything softer and thinner than mild steel at least 3/8" thick any closer. So with a fresh bullet directly behind and in line with the barrel and the bullet hole, apparently my SWAG shooting (Scientific Wild Ass Guess) at clear blue sky finally put one through the barrel. I don't like to brag but it's not really bragging if its true so I'll just say I've always kind of had a "knack" for guns and anything else that involves using something to launch a projectile, etc. It comes naturally to me and like I said if you want to send me even a CHEAP air gun I'll sure as hell shoot the shit out of it. I've got an old Daisy Powerline 880 right over my back door with a couple of fresh tubes of Daisy BBs stuck in the "pump handle" and next to it to the left a fake "Super Soaker" and to the right an el-cheapo full-auto airsoft gun. I tell people that if the "feds" ever come to my door and tell me to hand over my guns, those are what they're getting. I've got a Tippmann paintball gun stashed away in the box in my closet too but I don't have the "air supply" for it. So the bottom line is that I'm as "gun guy" as anybody I know, I've had a "thing" for guns and anything else that turns money into noise my whole life and I grew up on farms and ranches and have been a professional diesel mechanic for 25+ years and I'll try anything once and twice if I'm not sure if I liked it or not the first time and I wouldn't feel a big embarrassed if 200 pellets weren't enough to split a car or smug and cocky if I did it with the first. Shit happens and we only learn what we can do by trying. Learning what we can't do is easier. Just don't try. Lesson over. I've never done the "card trick" myself but my best "gun buddy" and I one day had a little contest with our Ruger Revolvers (me with my Single Six and I think he had a Blackhawk in .30 Carbine but it could have been any of his half-dozen or so Ruger wheelguns) at about 6 or 8 yards back from a GOLF TEE stuck in the ground with an EMPTY .223 case stood neck-up on top of it. Another friend was the "judge" and I hadn't been shooting handguns for more than a few months at that point while he was a Cabelas gun library manager for years, is an ex-cop, a lifelong shooter/hunter/trapper and a general all around gun guru of the GOOD KIND that actually knows a hell of a lot and more importantly knows what he doesn't know. I bought that R1 from him and got him as a "gun mentor" and a good friend of his who is another gun guru and major AR/military rifle "freak" as my SECOND "gun mentor" in the bargain and they've helped me with guns and I've helped them by listening to their stories (neither has a son and I kind of got adopted) and letting them teach me what I didn't know and some things I did, etc. And I bought several guns from each and have done some trading for other guns and parts, etc. So when that little "shooting contest" started with first one to the case stood on the tee the "winner" with a co-worker WITNESS and ETERNAL BRAGGING RIGHTS I figured I had zero chance. But at least a few reloads in to the contest it was my revolver that fired last right before the case disappeared off the tee. I got the bragging rights AND a few months later when I was there again scrounging brass and had found some other .223 scattered around that wasn't there the day of the contest I just happened to spot over all by itself several yards from the other "group" a lone .223 case that I picked up and found a PERFECTLY CENTERED .22-caliber hole punched in right about in the middle of the case vertically halfway between the case head and the mouth. And it must have been SEVERAL months because I didn't even realize what I was holding for a few seconds even though I KNEW it was ringing a bell. Honestly I figured it had to have been just accidentally "holed" by a bullet from a .223 round since it didn't seem possible that a .22LR bullet from a little old Single Six fired down at an angle only a handful of yards would be able to punch through that case instead of just "blasting it off the tee". But like the bullet behind the barrel it was behind and directly in line with where our "target stand" had been and I KNEW it hadn't flown too far when I'd hit it and it just kind of flew backward. At the time I thought I MAY have even only hit it with some flying gravel from a round that landed short but I still CLAIMED IT because it was "first one to knock it off the tee" and there was no requirement to actually HIT THE CASE WITH THE BULLET, lol. And you're damn right it went in my pocket and then the console of my pickup to be presented to my defeated opponent or rather paraded in front of him. And I've still got that case in my little "treasures" box of cool shooting artifacts. Come to think of it since I've been shooting rifles damned near my whole life and I have that childhood CO2 pistol connection and I've already got a big bad "air rifle" in my old 880, you can just send me an AIR PISTOL and I'll do the card trick with THAT. Much easier to ship, much more challenging and much more "impressive" but for the GUN mainly and me not so much. Because I WILL GET IT DONE and EXPECT TO and like I said I kind of have a knack and get competitive even with myself at times so if I DON'T GET IT ON THE FIRST SHOT however many shots it DOES take will be at LEAST "one too many" in MY MIND, lol.

can we see some H&N pellets, polymags, eujin,Benjamin pellets in this smooth twists x? we all know the JSB pellets will shoot lights out.....seems like you have to wait & spend a $100 on a barrel to shoot other pellets pellets 😟😟 so unfair fx when the gun is already $1,700- $2,000

I see that all fx guns and day state guns when shot at a further distance are single loaded hum wonder why. Just saw some one shoot match stick tips at 50 yards with a 600 dollar gun and used the mag.

matt coulter People are afraid that the magazin will affect accuracy, but in top-end PCPs like FX, Daystate and Air Arms the magazine feeding makes absolutely no difference. If you take a look at the Extreme Benchrest, you will see that almost everyone shoots from the magazine.

Check out our review of the Crown, all shots were done with the magazine (as I'm way too impatient to single load when firing/filming!) kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKixeZ-eZZWEmKs

Our aim was to shoot some amazingly difficult shots, and we expected the card shot to take many tries. Being that we test so many airguns, we get in the habit of single loading to save time. Much to our surprise, the 5 shot group, the paintball and the card were done in only 8 shots and one take!

It's underpowered so I don't even use mine for hunting. It's a glorified paper puncher unless you happen to be selling it or have the ability to modify it so it will actually shoot a 34 grain pellet worth a damn.

You can easily hunt rabbits, squirrels and rats with a sub 12ft lb in a .177 let alone .22, as long as you're not in excess of 50 yds away, this gun is more than capable to do so. What do you want to do, blow their fucking heads off?
