These rifles are accurate and in current configuration reliable. My mate owns one at least 24,000 pellets through his last year and a similar amount in 2023 no major issues apart from forgetting to charge the battery and worn out mags and giving the barrel a clean every so often. He Has no trouble shooting Trebor soft mints edge on at 80yards in calm conditions.

@robg49575 жыл бұрын
I had a Daystate mk3 sub 12 ft/lbs. It was the first electronic offering from Daystate. I could consistently kill rabbits at 60yds and one confirmed 80yd kill. If I pushed it, I’m sure that I could’ve killed from further, given perfect conditions etc. Daystates really are that good. When zeroing at 40yds, it would be pellet upon pellet upon pellet. Before anyone starts to gob off about responsibility and not using a 12ft/lb rifle beyond 40yds, I’m an ex royal marine who gained a marksman badge - google and you’ll see that’s not a bad shot!!! I will be in the market for a new air rifle soon and genuinely can’t see past getting a new Daystate fitted with all of the electronic wizardry. It eliminates a lot of the irregularities with other non electronic rifles. A clean kill 99% of the time rather than 75%. 👍🏻👍🏻Daystate

@thatblokewiththescar74556 жыл бұрын
The battery situation is very simple to fix. Buy a decent battery and a proper charger! £10 for the battery and £30 for a multi charger and you can charge the battery in 15-20 mins. Get a high C rating Nanotech battery from Turnigy and by the time you have put the rifle into its bag and packed away a few tins of pellets the battery will be charged. Cracking gun by the way cant wait to see one in the flesh.

nice looking rifles I like the choice of power depending on conditions you didn't try the 7.8 grain JSB pellets on the .177 on my wolverine I'm supposed to use the 50.grain JSB I use the 44.75 grain JSB or the new H&N barracuda 46.30 grains so the low end I'm shooting like 950 depending on air in my rifle but always 100 ft/lbs gonna shoot long distance this weekend did it take some shots to get it right at long range how much hold over I love the trigger on my daystate when are you gonna do a review on the wolverine r (regulated)

That's a gorgeous rifle, but that battery and charger solution is completely unacceptable. I have torches that cost less than $100 with 2400mah batteries smaller than that thing, that charge by plugging a USB cable into the outside. They still have a long way to go in my opinion, this is an expensive air rifle, not an RC car from the 90s.
@markhomer76286 жыл бұрын
James The Airwolf AND the MK4 both have plug in leads ( and probably the pulsar ) why they made it so you have too take the battery out , god only knows , I've mentioned this on ALL reviews I've watched . Just can't understand why .
@lewisyorks74976 жыл бұрын
Mark Homer The Pulsar is AAs or PP4, you can use rechargables but I don't think it's worth it. I've just changed the as shipped batteries about 8 months in and many tins of pellets down the barrell.
@nickholmes63766 жыл бұрын
Thats exactly wot it is, lithium batteries are brilliant but can be volitile, rc enthusiasts use the same tech and they should be removed from the unit before charging

I've just compared my HW100 to a recently acquired HW 97 TK underlever and my HW 99s springer. Same result from all three models. all well within a 5p peice. There must come a time when money is spent with diminishing returns. Batteries, electronics I can do without.
@patsparks87313 жыл бұрын
Those are all very good rifles. I loved (but sold) my BSA Superten which was cumbersome to fill...but I see your point to a degree. I still have my Logun Mk II....I also dig the Daystate LE rifles and love the fact that they’ve had this program for years. But I skipped the ones that had batteries. Tech wise they’re cool...but I just didn’t want to deal w charging batteries. Airguns are so accurate to begin with, it’s easy to see how they got to the point of infinitesimal improvements but I applaud the constant quest for improvement. Twenty years ago it was so hard to even find high end Airguns in the US so I love seeing how their popularity has changed this.

Fabulous review. I'm across the pond in the colonies, where George Washington is still wanted for treason. I have never fired a PCP rifle. In fact, I just bought my second British springer. The first was over 40 years ago. It was an inexpensive BSA. (I had a BSA Lightning Rocket motorcycle, so it seemed like a good fit. The second was just ordered: An Air Arms TX200 in .22 caliber. Damn, you guys make some great airguns. BTW, I love the pink flamingo boa and matching sunglasses. Giving Sir Elton a run for his money, are we? Seriously, thank you for a very enjoyable review.

If the mct technology is so ace why is full power on the sub 12 10.9? Why is it not 11.5 / 11.9? We have to abide with low powered airguns, I understand all that but why by so much. My s510 is 11.7 with jsb 8.44gn and I’m happy with that. I’m not however happy to be fobbed off with a brand new gun in the 9’s as my local rfd tried to sell me. Especially with the anti tamper stuff on them nowadays.

Giles, what is your take on this vs the Crown (or Impact)?
@edcrus5 жыл бұрын
My .22 Redwolf is shooting neck and neck with my Crown. I have taken pigeons out to 200 yards with them and out to 150 to 175 do it consistently. My Crown with the 700mm Slug liner shooting NSA slugs house sparrows are consistently hit at 200 yards. I will say this my .22 Redwolf is my most accurate .22 at 50 yards with my Impact X 700mm pellet liner shooting JSB Monsters at 52ftlbs is my most accurate 100 yard gun and then the Crown or Impact X with 700mm Slug liner are both absolutely usable 200 yard guns. I've taken prolly 100 crows between the Crown and Impact with 700mm Slug liners and NSA slugs at between 230 and 270 yards with a hit to miss ratio of about 75% hits, 20% misses and 5% hitting them after a ricochet from it hitting right in front of them and skipping up and killing them. But the trigger on the Redwolf is something of beauty... Think a AA S510 or a FX Crowns trigger is superb? Well they are UNTIL you shoot this gun... It's trigger is the finest trigger ive ever shot PERIOD (my 20,000 dollar competition Long range Bench rest guns triggers aren't as good as the Redwolfs.) If you want a gun that out the box will shoot MOA or better at 100y this is the gun.. The Impact and Crown are both fully capable of MOA 10 shot groups or better at a 100y BUT take a lot of tuning/chrony time to get absolutely the best the guns offer... This gun is take it out the box feed it JSB 18.13s or H&N baracuda Match in the 5.51mm head size and if you do your part the gun is wholly capable out the box to shoot consistently 10 shot groups that are a minute or better at 100y and the gun is totally boringly accurate at 50y.. Anyone can shoot sub .5 inch 10 shot groups at 50y with either of the two pellets listed. The one bad thing about the Redwolf(mine atleast) it's VERY pellet picky... It will shoot single pellet size groups at 25y with pretty much any pellet... At 50y it's Baracuda Match in 5.51mm head size and JSB18.13s only and that goes for further then 50y as well.. If you wabt the gun to preform just simply shoot either of those pellets and you will be rewarded with one of the of not the most accurate 50y gun I've ever shot.

Giles, you reviewed the HP and the sub 12, isn’t it? And how about 50 ft-lb results? When you say you are using 18.13’s, you are using the standard power version? I’ve got an HP that simply has disgusting results with these pellets. At 25yd they are like a shotgun target. All at factory settings
@AirgunGearShow6 жыл бұрын
Hi, if your unhappy and it sounds like something is wrong I would return it. No being with you I cannot help, but speak to your point of purchase and explain your concerns. Any JSB at 25yards should be a thumbhole or smaller group. Giles
@AirgunGearShow6 жыл бұрын
Not being with you. Excuse my typing. 😎
@maion20056 жыл бұрын
Hi there!!! Mine is HP as I said. It got @ high and JSB 25,39’s 278m/s and @ mid and HN 21.14’s 268m/s. Group quite well at 25 but a disaster above this distance. Groups spreading and I don’t use moderator/silencer. JSB 18.13’s simply doesn’t work, neither 15,89’s. They are doing @ low about 250m/s. Isn’t these velocities too low? Daystate gave me the factory setup but I will only could read them when the programmer arrives.
@maion20056 жыл бұрын
By the way, I’m your opinion, what sounds better: standard power or HP? I’m not sure if sub-FAC and standard are the same rifle/setup since neither their website is too clear

And I would like to use most the 18.13 as you did. What part was on a standard one? When you shoot 50~100yd at the chair and pyro target.
