@gerhard - did you have to upgrade the regulator to get to 165bar or will the standard regulator get you there? I was testing my 700mm in .22 this evening with 34gr 0.218 slugs and struggled to get above 875fps but I only took the regulator to 150bar/ Macro 16/ micro almost maxed out. Be keen to hear your thoughts!

Right about now I bet there's a lot of people happy SA doesn't allow bigger than .22 for airgun hunting. A lot of people were slugging already (tofazfou is a pioneer) but it wasn't as widespread, repeatable/consistent and cheaper as it has become now (keeping in mind Impact's are cheaper than custom machined Air Force Texan/Condor's builds). Just finished watching Roelff's video, he got a pigeon at 207 yards like it's nothing. And here you whip out 2 headshots at 153 yds too! Consistent 200yards+ isn't far off now. That M4 looks to be a doozie, the stronger single reg config on an Impact seems to shoot a tad smoother by the way it recoils and sounds in slo-mo, it doesn't have the KRRREOWOWOW sound that's been so prevalent for years already with the doublereg versions. FX is very smart (not to state the obvious) to take a step back and not only improve but also simplify the Impac where needed. Lots of seals and o-rings means failure points and any o-ring shavings left in the system means more issues down the road.

My solution for barrel harmonics was to go to the FX harmonic tuner or tuner shroud combo. Having to play with your velocity or opting with for less than ideal moderator suppressing is not ideal. The problem with the FX harmonic tuner was that they were not of high quality and the finish was poor. Eagle Vision makes a beautifully made and precision tuner that is much better than the FX tuner. What Donny FL or someone else should come up with is the tuner with section baffles that you can add to get the proper sound moderation and then adjust the tuner for accuracy.

Hi Gerhard I’m in the uk and have just put a deposit on the M3 but would you change your mind and go for the M4? I’m not sure weather to stay with the M3 choice as any problems with the M4 would have already been ironed out on the M3, plus would it be better to stay with the double regulators ?

Good question and good points. I will say if you can buy the both guns for the same price then get the M4 but if there is a big difference in price the M3 will be just fine

@@420Farmer7 I'd also opt for the M4, honestly it's your dealers fault that you had an M3 ordered this close to M4 release, they would have or should have known, either way it's on them. Don't be scared to change order when you were not informed by your dealer. Plus the sooner they fill the M3 backlog, the sooner everyone gets M4 > Get the M4. And the much improved simplicity, durability and trigger is worth a little extra wait, if there even is a wait, the block looks to be mainly the same just a few extra machining steps.

@@ToreDL87 Thanks for your comment I agree totally with what you’re saying, I didn’t realise the M4 was that close to release it came out a few days after I put the deposit down, the M3 is in the shop until I pay the final payment so I can’t see why I can’t just switch the payments to an M4, The only thing bothering me is I’m in the uk and wondering if getting rid of the second regulator is a good idea cos everyone was saying how much better the second reg makes the gun,
