FX Panthera Competition Prep, Cleaning your barrel \ Patchworm Kit

In this video, we're getting our FX Panthera ready for competition by giving it a thorough barrel cleaning using the Patchworm cleaning Kit. A clean barrel is essential for accuracy and consistency, especially when shooting at long ranges.
i have been using the H&N Precision slugs with great success in nrl22 airgun class. but always tuning and trying to perfect the setup.

I just shot my first NRL22 match yesterday with my Panthera, with the h&n 33gn precision slugs. During set up and tuming i was at 1007 fps in 55° weather. It was 16° at the match, dropped my speed to 970ish. Made it tough as i already made dope cards. 30 plus mph wind. Also made it tough. Lol. But all the 22LR guys were struggling too. But my dial for 100 yards was 2.3 mil, in that temp it was 2.8 mil. That was something i never really thought about.

Yea I write two dope cards, one for practice what my holds were, and in the morning of the match we have a check zero time for 30min. So I re check my velocity and make changes. If I’m still not making hits it’s usually a holdover that is right between the two dope cards I wrote down if that makes sense. I’ve also struggled with the temp,rain and humidity here. We don’t have as much wind usually though thankfully

Do you periodically clean the front shroud by the air stripper? I noticed lead dust accumulates there.

@@11trevord mine doesn’t seem to get that dirty but yes I run a rag though with a string, same kind of method just tie a simple knot around the middle of a microfiber and pull it through. I try and wipe everything down when it’s apart or I’m replacing things

So if you pull the patch from the block outwards wont you get clean lubricant squeezed down the transfer port? I ask because there's another video on youtube from an expert saying this will happen and that the only proper way to clean a panthera barrel is to remove the barrel liner and clean that and put it back in. Doesnt seem like that's very newbie friendly and I'd be afraid of screwing up the liner or not getting it back in correctly. Im new to FX airguns and dont want to screw mine up (Panthera Hunter Compact .22)

@@georgesmith4639 I can see how doing that would be the best way to deep clean it, but that would take awhile and I’d say it is not newbie friendly. There are o rings in the block, timing the ports to be back perfectly centered, and getting your magazine tension re setup. And re torquing the barrel setscrews. I’ve been cleaning mine the way I showed for a long time and haven’t had an issue, that port I show in the video is my old transfer port and no debris or oil inside after all the cleans I did on it. But also keep in mind it doesn’t need that much lubricant, the patch’s are damp not dripping if that makes sense.

If you are really concerned you could also just flip it upside down and the ports would be skyward 🤷‍♂️
