I’ve been a diehard Zan slug slinger for a good while now I love them but recently I’ve been wanting to save up for a press but we know theirs only 2 real offerings so I’m gonna take my time and research before making the purchase I always enjoy the videos keep em coming Peter I CANT GET ENOUGH!!!! merry Christmas

I had the same thought 😃 But with slugs performing so differently I would hate to be the one who invested in a press that makes bad slugs 🤮 I know that the shape can be changed, but each change cost. So yeah I abandoned the idea. But it does seem like people are make their own slugs with great results, so maybe I should just be a bit more open minded 😃

I love the idea of a press but like Peter said, with my luck I will end up with a slug that my setup hates! Think I need to go and visit the local Inferno slug guys.

Thanks, that was interesting! I think it is a great way to test and it should result in a conclusion that would make final selection of the "best" slug easier. Since my slug collection is growing rapidly I think I will adopt a similar test sequence. I would also like to test the slugs in windy conditions. My final idea is to make an informed decision on the best slug for the local 50 and 100m "unlimited" benchrest classes. Thanks for the idea!

Im glad you like my method. Well into the next video it does seem like the 6 groups might not be enough. The results are very close, so for a reliable result make sure that you are at the very best in terms of Accuracy before starting the test 🙂

@RudixSA 19 сағат бұрын
@@VikingAirgunner Yes, I can see to get reliable results it might be best to optimize the tune for each slug else it would not be fair to all of them. Thanks, will take that into account. Lots of shooting and that is what we love! Just received a selection of Zan slugs, hope to try them tomorrow even if it is only on my 50m home range.

Hi Peter. Paul from South Africa here. Seeing how well you shoot with 177 I wish I could see how you would perform with 22, which is the max caliber we are allowed here. Great video as always. Keep it up

Hi Paul I have been curious to do a test like this with 22 aswell, but saddly our gun laws in Denmark are very restrictive, so I will most likely stay with 177. But who know... Maybe one day 😃

Another informative video. Thanks for all of your efforts to indirectly assist me, and others. Couple of comments: 1) When I shoot my MKII .22 and my M3 .25, I need to fire a few shots to "wake" everything up. Just wondering if you've experienced this? 2) I was recently at the gun range and talking with a powder burner. He said he found some excellent bullets that he reloaded and at 100 yards, they were stacking great. However, when he went out to 200 yards, he said the group opened up, so it looked like a shotgun blast. He spoke with a tech at the bullet manufacturer and was told he needed a faster twist rate. Based on his current twist rate, the bullet would be accurate out to 120 to 130 yards and then would lose its ballistic spine and would actually start to tumble. The tech suggested he get a faster twist rate which would allow the bullet to "fly/spin" longer. You mentioned you're using a heavy liner, just wondering if a faster or slower twist rate would degrade or improve the accuracy. Again, thanks for all you share with others.

Hi Bart I defenately know about slow and low - saddly. In the M3 I solved the problem by tuning the final few fps using only the front valve adjuster - you know the tuning videos. But in the M4 I cant get it to work and I annoys me SO much! I have no idea why since the M3 and M4 are basically the same. I just had a message today from a guy claiming that fx has released a 1:16 slug liner (fx 21099) And not only claiming. He sent a picture and I found the liner for sale online. Still a bit sceptic since I have seen false prints on a liner before, but aparently this looks to be the real deal 🤗 In case that it is, I hope that it works. No matter what I have alot of testing ahead 😃😂😎😜🤗

Have you tried weighing the NSA slugs? I'm asking because I know with his higher smaller ammo, it seems they are inconsistent in weight, but they heavier ammo is okay. You might want to try weighing a few. I shoot Griffin Airgun Ammo and AVS slugs. Great video btw and I hope you have a Happy New Year!
@VikingAirgunner
@VikingAirgunner 20 сағат бұрын
The NSA'S are actually some of the most consistant slugs in terms of weight. I remember weighing the 15 gr in the past, but there were so little variation that I didnt find it to be nessecary. There are some slugs that are absolutely awfull. Not gonna mention any😂 But NSA and Zan are super consistant.

The harmonic barrel tuner is a great tool and with a free floating barrel it will make you able to access the final accuracy for sure. But with me always testing different setups and slugs it is just too much of a hazzle to set it up every time I make a change. For a competition it would make though. Right now after installing the TRS Rail from Saber Tactical it doesnt make sense, since the barrel is now fixed, but on another gun with a free floating barrel I might use it again in the future 🙂
