The placement of the cocking lever that the mk1 wildcat introduced to shooters was a game changer,I've never liked bullpups because of the bolt position, I just couldn't get used to them, my first bullpup was a skan new ultra, and I didn't enjoy the experience, the gun had to many design flaws, my next was the air arms Galahad , I loved that,the way air arms created the cocking lever towards the middle / fore end of the stock was brilliant ,bit of an ugly duckling to some ,but I really enjoyed the one I had ,until I sold it . It would be good if air arms made an updated version with less of a gap between the barrel and the cylinder,If more people tried the Galahad they would really enjoy the way it handles ,and the fact that you can switch the cocking lever to either side was way ahead of the crowd. A make Galahad please air arms, I love their new s510 tactical ,some similar treatment to the Galahad would have me interested .

Nice video sir, I have a FX impact mk3 And you can add a power plenum for your regulator & in .35 you can tune them to shoot all the way upto 140ft/lbs using 85gr slugs/pellets & even in .22 it’s perfectly capable of achieving 70ft/lbs But as an experienced shooter like yourself I’m sure you know about different regulators & fine tuning (on high power versions of course.) Good luck with your videos

@alphamilitaria2756
@alphamilitaria2756 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much Robin - very nice of you to say. A lot of people find they have to shim the NV008, including me. The issue is that once you zero the scope the reticle ends up really low in the image window. Its very easy to do though. I used some small pieces of cut up coke can but I understand PARD provides a pack of shims now. Put the shims between the NV008 unit and the mount that it screws on to. Eagle Vision do a bespoke Pard NV008 rail which I've not used (shims work fine for me) but I understand its very good (costs a few quid mind). eaglevisioncam.com/shop/scope-mount/008-pard-forward-elevation-windage-108-moa-adjustable-picatinny/

Thanks - it does get easier as you say ( I’ve got the Dreamline tact ) - I’m just puzzled by manufacturers making sub 12ftlb hunting air rifles ever more complicated - the law of diminishing returns etc. Having said that at the age of 70 I’m still checking the latest reviews for the next big break through - go figure😆. Nice review of a very capable rifle. I'm a bit surprised there was a 0.4fpe from an FX rifle (maybe pellets, maybe more bedding in reqd.), but why'o'why do they put the safety catch so far from the trigger? I just don't get it??? When i'm out, I wan't the safety within reach of the trigger without taking my hand away from the grip.
@alphamilitaria2756
@alphamilitaria2756 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much. Don't get me started on safety catches! I'm never satisfied - they're either too close (within the trigger guard) to the trigger or too far away! I think you're right about the rifle bedding in. It was brand new out of the box. In fact, I've been shooting it a lot since the video and although I've not bothered putting it on the chrono again, its blisteringly accurate.

Thanks very much Darren. It was probably my ham fisted filming trying to get the magazine in focus and doing everything cack-handed, because the magazine is very easy to fill. It takes a while because it takes so many pellets. The plus side is that you don't have to fill it in so often of course. I don't think there is a colour change option on the FX - perhaps you have a newer/older model than mine? Hopefully someone else might come along with an answer. Could it be down to your phone rather than the chrono app?

Hi Chris. I can't say I did to be honest. Are you sure the issue isn't with your scope (not that that would be affected by refilling of course). I had the Wildcat for longer than most rifles I review and used it quite a bit without any problems. Though I do recall having to adjust the zero a couple of times, it wasn't by much and no more than I find myself having to with other rifles.

Alpha Militaria Sadly it wasn’t scopes as we tried three, I even purchased the picc rail at an extra £90 but its shown in all pics as included 🤐 The first liner was swapped foc as it was a shotgun, then we could see this poi properly, we tried various scopes and mounts and after many frustrating range visits it turned out the straw liner/barrel system flexing and not strong enough to return, even putting it back it its case and trying again the poi had moved, it was finally exchanged by the importer and I sold the replacement as Id lost all confidence in it, especially after useing a Kalibrgun for a long time the wildcat mk3 was a let down, not a patch on the cricket. There are a few 3d printers making barrel supports now and theres even a stainless barrel sleeve now to stiffen it up.

Don't get a left hand version like I did...you can't use the high capacity mags...you get a 13 shot mag that comes from the fx royale...its a nasty fiddly mag...that becomes sloppy as the tiny o ring wears and this affect accuracy as the pellets catch during the loading cycle

@@tseiboudzuvichu6029 My advice would be to take your rifle to a gunsmith. The regulator will be protected by an anti-tamper device.

It looks good 👍 but if isn’t consistently accurate and reliable it’s a waste of time and money. I like the guns design 👍 but put off by the reviews of the people who have bought this brand of guns and have had to endure fault after fault with their new gun 😧 shocking reliability. Was on my purchase list 🤔 but my money will be going elsewhere

Hi Shaun. If I implied the Wildcat isn't consistently accurate and reliable I'm sorry about that because my experience is completely the opposite. I have three FX rifles and they have all been reliable, consistent and accurate.
