I think the thing that amazes me the most is how this character "evolved" - the first few episodes we see Kreiger he doesn't even talk. According to imdb, Kreiger was a throw-away secondary character, didn't even have any lines. Then they got Lucky Yates to voice a few lines and this character just took off. The entire voice cast is awesome (RIP Jessica Walter and George Coe).

It's very disconcerting knowing that Krieger can and has successfully performed surgery on a human being, allowing them to regain the ability to walk via cybernetic augmentation to their lower spinal cord and legs, all without 1. Proper medical training. 2. A modern understanding of medicine. And 3. Anatomy (Though I suppose given his... talents... not knowing the proper names of bones can be slightly forgiven, though it's still horribly disconcerting.)

So far I know only Rotblat and Sokharov (USSR hydrobomb) won the Noble Peace (on separate occasions) price's decades later for disarmament efforts & anti sovjet dogmatism respectively. Feynman worked on the Manhattan program too, but his Nobel price was awarded his quantum modelling, but that is not really something he worked on during his involvement in the Manhattan project.

Honestly, this is about on par for the doctors in my area. Pretty sure some of them would even make clones, robots and hybrids if they had the funding. So for me it would be just going to a doctor with better funding. Which is even better because with my psoriasis I would totally want a pair or robot hands or some kind of DNA reconstruction.
