I’ve worn an Outlaw Bandit for many years, about eight months ago bought the Modular an can honestly say I love the ability to get a little reprieve from the heat at times and also at every fuel stop. But I do find myself going back to the Outlaw depending on my mood. Great content as always brother 🤟

I bought my first Mod Bandit in 2020. Like your dad it was the only fullface helmet that got me to wear it as much if not more than my half helmet. In 2021 I was coming home from dinner with some friends, I was going 80 on the freeway and I was hit by a driver that was high on meth. I flew a couple hundred feet in the air before landing on my head and then going head over heels several times, smashing my head into the ground each time. I finally ended up laying on my back. I popped open the chin bar and started taking a physical assessment of my body. End result, two broken legs, two broken hands and wrists and a broken vertebrae in the middle of my back. But my head and face had no damage. Once I was ready to start riding again the first thing I did was go buy a new Mod Bandit. I figured that I had crashed test dummied that bitch so I will stick with it. Plus it just looks so damn good.

I am from Germany and search for a reviews , but in Germany It looks like nobody has this helmet,. I don't find any videos in German. sometimes it is a little bit difficult to understand. Is this a good helmet, is the helm saftye compared to the normal Bandit? I search for a helm which is salty and looks good. perhaps you can give me some information here. ? I am unsure about the folding mechanism in connection with safety (bit I think that can practical and comfortable). I actually don’t ride my motorcycle very often. That's why I want a safety helmet that looks good, that is important to me. I currently have a 12-year-old Simpson Bandit and it is uncomfortable and loud (but is safety and looks great). The Darksome was a dream against that. I like the Simpson optics. So you think this helmet is very safety! thx for response.

Excellent honest review! I never wear a helmet but I've been considering it. I saw your video and went to Simpson/Holley website and the hellfire was on sale so I couldn't pass it up. I've been wearing it and am very pleased and obviously much safer. Well done.

When you say loud, how loud? I am currently looking into a new helmet and this one caught my eye. I am currently in an HJC IS17. Yes, very bottom of the barrel, I know. I got it on closeout because it fit my budget when I bought my Vrod Muscle in 2019. 2 weird things. If I am rocking freeway speeds, and when I reach my destination, my ears don't ring and no hearing diminishment. But, if I am on surface streets and the highest speed is 60 mph, I get to where I am going, its as if I have been to a really loud concert and I have a slight ring in my ears and hard of hearing. I am not sure if its wind noise, my exhaust tone or a combination of both. I am hoping this helmet helps alleviate this problem. I would appreciate your 2 cents.

You know I've got a helmet problem. My helmet collection is out of control. I thought i could live with a fullface as my daily, but as you pointed out, quick gas stops are easier when you don't have to take off your helmet to clearly see how much gas is in the tank. (Personal pet peeve, gas stations that don't have paper towels to wipe spilled gas off of tank, suck.) Ive also found that taking off your helmet at gas stops seems to be an unofficial welcome mat for every person that wants to tell you about the Honda V45 their Uncle who went to prison sold them and only needs the carburetor cleaned out and do i know how to work on Hondas and theyre really quitting heroin this time and look at this cool tattoo on their asscheek they got at a party last night, and what do all those decals on your lunch cooler strapped to your bike mean, ...oh youre going to work, nightshift, that must suck, do you make a lot of money, are they hiring, and do i know anyone who wants to buy some Oxytocin...its much easier to flip up the modular, pump gas and leave. And there was the case in Norwood, Ohio, where a guy entered a store with his helmet on, and the clerk shot him thinking he was there to rob them . I had a Schubert modular because it's supposed to be the quietest helmet on the planet...if you have the perfect European shaped head. I don't and i tried, but it moved around especially with the weight of the Gopro on it and i literally almost left it in the garbage can at Iron Pony in Columbus after the Block Party trip. (A helmet that doesn't give you headaches at high speed is crucial. ) I have a couple full faces, but i really like having a modular. I finally bought a Shoei Neotec after trying one on at Cycle Gear. They were having a huge sale and trying to move the Neotec2's in preparation for the 3's. So far so good. I really wanted to try on a Simpson Modular but i couldn't find any in stock in stores within a 200 mile radius and theres such a difference in helmet fit, i recommend that everyone try on their helmets. (HJC sizing is much different than other brands. And the Harley helmets are HJC, and i find them uncomfortable just trying them on.) I am excited about the Carbon Outlaw Bandit that Simpson just came out with...did i mention i have a helmet problem?

As someone who also puts down the miles this is not the helmet I would choose for the long haul and even short rides. I use my outlaw far more often because the mod bandit is just incredibly cheaply made in my opinion. Sure you get that cool Simpson look. The common snapping turtle (Chelydra serpentina) is a species of large freshwater turtle in the family Chelydridae. Its natural range extends from southeastern Canada, southwest to the edge of the Rocky Mountains, as far east as Nova Scotia and Florida. The present-day Chelydra serpentina population in the Middle Rio Grande, suggests that common snapping turtle has been present in this drainage since at least the seventeenth century and is likely native.[3] The three species of Chelydra and the larger alligator snapping turtles (genus Macrochelys) are the only extant chelydrids, a family now restricted to the Americas. The common snapping turtle, as its name implies, is the most widespread.[4] The common snapping turtle is noted for its combative disposition when out of the water with its powerful beak-like jaws, and highly mobile head and neck (hence the specific epithet serpentina, meaning "snake-like"). In water, it is likely to flee and hide underwater in sediment. The common snapping turtle has a life-history strategy characterized by high and variable mortality of embryos and hatchlings, delayed sexual maturity, extended adult longevity, and iteroparity (repeated reproductive events) with low reproductive success per reproductive event.[5]
