MNR - I love HD FXDR and now seeing what peeps are doing to it around the world #loveHD!!! I Still think two things this bike deserves 1. Some mid controls will make it ideal for those curves, yes that bike can lean. 2. A lower price, yes yes HD are expensive no matter the geo-loco but when you spend 20k+(USD) then the parts that mention I may want to consider Japanese Kawi 1300 or Suki Busa and upgrade the handlebars. Overall FANTASTIC job you and your mates are doin to theses HD. Keep up the awesomely great content!!!

That's one of the best looking FXDR's i've seen so far. The pipe looks and sounds great. I still don't like the seat and tail unit, i couldn't live with low bars, and it needs a taller rear shock to improve ground clearance and speed up the steering. I see a lot of negativity about the FXDR, but i don't think Harley missed the mark by that much with it. Had it come with the 117 stock, less rake and a 180 rear, i think it would have sold much better. Harley have never put out a bike that i'm completely happy with. Even my FXDLS has needed a lot of money thrown at it getting it the way i want.

@@woodengle I don't really like the Fat Bob. I prefer the more flowing lines of the Low Rider and Sport Glide, and i don't like the fat front tyre.

@@woodengle I've owned an '18 Breakout and that handled much better than expected considering the geometry. Had the FXDR on loan for a couple of days and it's pretty much the same, but with more lean angle. Both bikes will turn quickly, but the long rake makes the front end feel vague when pushing hard. Sure the Fat Bob is more flickable, but as i said i'm not sold on the look. I much prefer my Low Rider S and Harley don't produce anything that is likely to make me want to trade.

Great vid. Why can’t harley design dept just employ a ‘regular’ bike modder. If they pumped out bikes like this surely they wouldn’t be struggling so much with sales??
@HooMeye5 жыл бұрын
Price wise it would be much more expensive to put a bike like this on the market. So this won't do sales any good either. The most gorgeous bikes from the factory will be personalized, Ducatis, Harleys, MV Augustas. Depending on the budget even the most expensive and best looking bikes will be modified to personal taste. Nothing is ever good enough. My 2019 Fat Boy is a very good looking bike and still I want to make changes to it. So the factories have to leave some space for personal mods and still be within the boundaries of most countries laws. And yes the modified bike shown is a very good looking bike, no discussion.

Great video, man, fantastic bike. That exhaust sounds mean! I have a question though: You're talking about the low end torque in this video and how that is important to you in this Stage 4 as opposed to the high end performance. As far as I know the Stage 4 is specific for the high revs and for low end torque you better choose the Stage 3 instead. I am checking the parts list and see a Stage 2 torque cam, is that correct? Do you know what the rationale was behind that setup and are you at liberty to share the power figures? As an owner of a Stage 4 fxdr myself, I'm interested in other possible setups and their pros and cons. Thanks!

Great looking bike! I actually considered that bike before I bought my 2018 Super Duke 1290r. I wanted a lighter bike with stability control with cornering ABS/Cornering TC. I have been riding 50 years with history of professional car/ motorcycle racing. Plus love the TFT screen. Harley’s should come from the Factory with Stage 4 not an additional expense. Both American motorcycle companies only offer ABS as electronic Safety devices.
@jupiter221775 жыл бұрын
Scott, great choice. look at it in reality. sdr is 5 times the bike with zero mods. nice bike but grotesquely overpriced
@Firestorm6375 жыл бұрын
Sportbikes have horsepower for speed and Harleys have torque for acceleration. The Super Duke is the only engine that gives you both. 177 crank horsepower and 106 ft pounds of torque. By 3500 rpm the SD is already making 80 ft pounds vs other naked make that at high end rpm. By 7500 almost all ft pounds are there with red line 10,000. You say the SD is overpriced, no the Harley is overpriced. What does the 117 cost. Most the additional horsepower is at redline. Look at dyno. Most people do not drive around redline all the time. Plus only ABS with the Harley. Higher horsepower you need more electronic aids to control the power.

For having a Yosh pipe it actually sounds pretty gnarly. I think topend is over-rated if it can pull hard from the bottom and have a strong mid range for making passes at highway speeds seem effortless then that's all I need. That is one thing I have found Indian has done real well is pull gobs of torque out of their engines which pulls them big touring bikes out in traffic seem less daunting. I rode a chieftain with a stage 3 kit in it and good lord was it a beastly ride at 50 you can drop a gear or 2 and grab a handful and the rear tire will scratch a bit and away we go. I would love to ride a Street Glide with the 117 stage 4 back to back with a stage 3 116 Chieftain and see which one will give you the better pull in at highway speed transitions. That thing right there looks like a more traditional twist on what the V-Rod should have been from the start. I would love to one day go to the UK and blast around on a new Norton or built up Thruxton just to see what it is like to play with some British bikes in their homeland. I am not a brand loyale kind of biker I have owned numerous Harleys but I have owned some British bikes as well I had a 63 Triumph that was turned into a chopper, I had a Royale Enfield 500, and my buddy had a 73 Norton Commando which I have to say was quite the hotrod back in the day. Great video thanks for sharing and always keep the shiny side up brother, cheers!
