Yep great question and that’s always the one - where would you rather be if you have an option. Personally I’m always invested aside from a small emergency fund. Financial-market for me seem the only way forward with my long time horizon (accrued almost $1.4m in gains since 2020 ) but if you don’t have that fortune of time it’s a tough market out there almost nowhere feels safe! . Just know the risk you're comfortable with . Mistake is expensive

one option I suppose is, if you were to invest a set amount buy the whole share in a ETF and the remainder could go into a index for which would allow you to purchase the fractional shares, is that an option?

Flows out of cash doesn't mean into us s&p500 unless you have data that can show a transaction movement out, corresponding cash movement in, and a linkage identifier between the two. The flows data on cash outflow you showed has no direct identification to being moved into any market or equity. It simply shows cash accounts had outflows to somewhere.

Thanks for the video. Just a question about your reasoning about "positive gamma". Positive Gamma will let market makers sell underlying / sell futures when the prices are rising. So they would rather compress volatility and price action by hedging, instead of increasing it. Could you elaborate maybe? Thx.

I'm thinking this Tesla run is mostly about the robotaxi event that is coming up. For some reason people believe cars are going to be allowed to drive themselves in the near future.
@rioriggs3568Ай бұрын
Tesla Q3 EV growth should be around 5% (far from the desired 35%) and the margins could fall in the single digit (far from the desired 20%). All that free and cheap financing they are offering is not great for the bottom line. Competition in China will be next level in 2025 with manufacturers making Model Y and Model 3 "killers" for a fraction of the price or even fully equipped more luxurious cars for a similar price point. 100% tariffs on all Canadian Tesla made in China starting October 1st 2024. They will have to come from the US. The recession will also hit hard, car sales usually drop by 35%-40%. I don't believe Tesla will make a $25,000 in Texas anytime soon, FSD won't get solved this decade, robots are a pipe dream.

hold cash and wait for a crash - then buy up at bargain basement lows after a year or so - the Sahm rule is never wrong - she's been wheeled out to say whatever she has to say to keep her job - the global economy is tanking - there's a reason why FedEX and UPS have incredibly disappointing sales and profits figures and a reason why thousands of retailers are going to the wall right now - Tom's not mentioning any of that!

If You are pointing a crash, can't see that happen in a 3% growing international economy with record corporate profit margins. Chinese domestic confidence is very low, we will see how things play out. Then there's South Africa for value investing, but rest assured both US and international money will seek growth and some of it will end up in the US indices for sure. Sell-offs are possible in the US, but don't even expect anything over 5% sell-off a week at this moment. Economy seen as very strong, it's us, the lowest income groups who are struggling, rents are right etc. But the money is being spend upwards, want it or not, unfortunately in my opinion as well, but I don't see that as a reason to think the institutional world is going to dump their investments because globally spending on necessities as a percentage of income is increasing.
