I don't know why people are theorizing so much about the intro! It's a dream! At TwitchCon, Alex said they based this game off of the dream that "everyone had as a child" where you discover whats in your neighbor's house. Even the creepy part where the neighbor is setting up all of the boards and locks is probably a dream, too.

I am of the belief that the player inherited the house from either his parents or grandparents, through their will, and it has sat unoccupied for a long time, hence being boarded up. What I've wondered though, is how long must the player have been laying outside, if by the time they wake up, Mr. Wilson has already completely fixed up the house and brought in all of his stuff.

maybe u (your character) is a detective bcs: 1.in the first opening scene you receive a note wich could be sayong that you are getting posted next to the neighbour because he is a suspect in a murder mystery. 2. in the last cut scene you are leaving but all ur stuff is still in ur apartment. 3. the 1 and 0 code in the secret room is talking about "them" finding out. "them" could be the police. 4. the 1 and 0 code also talks abt 'her' which could be the victim. 5. you have binoculars and are given a key to his house.

OMG! Someone actually saw the clues that indicate the devs intended to make us think the neighbor has something to do with the devil, and he hides an abomination that could be his son or something like that... And finally someone noticed the 666 shoes... I saw it on the first video of the game I watched (the "youtuber" didn't saw anything, of course, and misundurstood the story ompletely...) They made it pretty straightforward though, I don't know why so many people have theories over this demo. XD

At the beginning, after the neighbour says "quiet!" a manikin springs up and knocks the neighbour down to the floor ,then the manakin looks like it is being dragged away by a ghost ,later on we see the neighbour lock something in the basement (spooky) , and if i'm not wrong when we finally get to the basement we can find 2 interesting things the first one is a mankin that flies-glitches if we throw it and the second one is the creepy bear doll... what does any of this mean?
