Goodwin A. Lycan, a weld inspector by trade, developed his passion for quality and accuracy working in the nuclear industry. He wanted to create a company that could produce high-quality weld gauges, that would not only meet national standards, but would also prove to be adaptable to the various elements of his beloved, yet ever-changing trade.
In 1975, Goodwin founded the G.A.L. Gage Company on the three pillars of quality, precision and customer service. He saw and met the needs in the welding industry, with a variety of gauges that could be used to accurately measure welds. His company succeeded by introducing innovative and patented products such as our Hi-Lo Gauge, the Adjustable Fillet Weld Gauge, and Gap-A-Let, which revolutionized the piping industry by considerably reducing "fit-up" time for welding purposes.
Today, G.A.L. Gage Company embraces the beliefs and principles set forth by its founder.
We pride ourselves in our ability to produce superior gauges for our domestic as well as our international customers. I like the tools, but why discontinues the cat #32 offset gage? Is there a replacement for measuring angular offset on sockets and over welds?

The gauge was discontinued due to patent issues. Unfortunately, we do not currently make a gauge that replicates what it measured.
