G-Darius - Playstation 1 - ALL endings

G-Darius is a sort of prequel of Darius saga..however endings are cryptic as usual, when speaking of shmups, so you're free to try to understand by youself what's the meaning behind every possible epilogue..
Played and recorded by V.E.D., as part of the videogame endings database, whose goal is to catalogue and create the world's largest archive of videogame endings! (what an humble and not ambitious project :D)

The only ending where both of them survive is the Zone O

They both survive Lamba tho. Pretty sure they survive Xi, too, although who knows since their ships both merge into the Silver Hawk.

My favourite ending is ξ, because I like birds and when the two Silver Hawks merged into a real silver hawk and started flying into space; it felt like they were free. Even though they both are probably dead. It’s a poetic ending.

Canon wise they defeat the Thima and lose the ARCF ROTA PLUS and it's forbidden tech, the Belsar take a fragment of the destroyed Great Thing and reverse engineer and develop their own, invading planet Darius and starting the events of the very first Darius. Since the original Silverhawk was lost they made anew one without the forbidden tech to fight the Belsar. that's why the Hawk in Darius doesn't have the AN Drive to counterbeam the Belsar from the get go

My experience with this game was Ending 1: damn a bad ending right at my first run... tough luck; Ending 2: aaaand another bad ending... well at least she made it to that planet; Ending 3: So... they both died and probably took that planet with them? And here I thought the other two endings were bad; Ending 4: oh hey look! A not that bad ending! Ending 5: wait wait wait... they both survived, is that the good ending? Ah forget it, the boss is still alive. Y'know what? Who needs good endings anyway?

@Kazuma Yoshikaze I wouldn't call ending 1 a good ending, I mean, they ended up drifting into space without any way of returning to Earth so they're dead. Ending 5 I would consider a not that bad ending, even though they made it back home, G.T is still alive so the threat is not dealt with. I have two theories about ending 3: 1- The death of Embryon triggered something and released so much energy the universe itself was rebooted; 2- Embryon wasn't like the other bosses, we don't even know where exactly his stage takes place or what Embryon is, the explosion caused by his death was so powerful it wiped out every living being, notice how there's literally zero signs of life in that ocean, or at least zero signs of visible life.

@Kazuma Yoshikaze there is no evidence of them finding somewhere they can refuel their oxygen, also they were at the end of a mission which means they probably had oxygen enough for only a few hours so... yeah, they're pretty much dead. G.T's remains was recovered by the aliens and they're probably planning to revive it. Embryon didn't blew Earth up, I'm pretty sure that energy it released when dying wasn't exactly a regular explosion but something different, I don't think a regular explosion would delete the protagonists the way it happened instead of just blowing them to pieces, that's one of the reasons I believe that Embryon's death made something go out of control and reboot the universe or end every form of life. Pretty sure the Silver Hawk saved them in one of the endings, but in case of ending 1, player two was caught in the explosion and player one left his spacecraft on purpose.

@Kazuma Yoshikaze the spacecraft was adrift, you can see player one ejecting right after player two was caught on the explosion, the only protection they had was their pilot suits which wouldn't be enough for an atmosphere re-entry. Also, judging by the way they were moving, they wouldn't be able to return to the spaceship once player one bailed out of it.

But the first ending is not bad! Blue ship gets destroyed but the pilot ejects on time and then the guy carries her into the red ship

G Darius is one of my favorite game that I never played.

The endings are so confusing. Like there's something to tell, and only by playing can one understand

as far as i know there aren't cutscenes beetween levels that explain some sort of story..these endings seems something oniric or a phylosophical metaphor of life and universe meanings..or programmers were just drunk :D

They are just there to encourage people to replay for different endings. Not much meaning behind any of them.
