A very sad aria, sung by a woman being held prisoner and wishing to be free. Beautifully played. (Welcome to a newly discovered organist). From Chicago, U.S.A.

I thank you so much for giving us this. The piece seems such an appropriate one for the venue. The organ is pretty incredible and the whole sound of venue, organ, playing and recording is - superb. May many, many enjoy it.

This aria is regarded as a masterpiece, reflecting the artistic pinnacle of vocal classics. When I actually listen to it, it reminds me of a certain serial drama. Its ability to evoke memories or associations with a television drama illustrates the profound impact that visual media can have on our perception of music. The power of television to influence and alter our emotional response to music is indeed formidable, demonstrating that music transcends mere sound to become a catalyst for powerful emotions and memories.
