In this clip, G Herbo discusses moving out of Chicago and how being away from home is more conducive to him as an artist. Herbo talked about how the negativity surrounding Chicago, particularly the Southside and Eastside respectively, is "too polluted." He said that you have to leave the house with the mentality that your life is at stake in Chicago. G Herbo broke down how that life doesn't coincide with everything he's doing now. He went on to discuss some early traumatic events in the past, such as witnessing his first murder at 8-years-old as well as a near death encounter when a bullet missed his head by inches.

He speakin that real shit, if you compare chicago's south side/east side/west side with new orleans in terms of population they are the same. And the majority of the murders happening in chicago happen in those three areas. If there are 100k people on the south/west/eastside, and there are 500 murders. That is just like new orleans having 100k people and having 500 murders. They make the statistic not seem as bad as it actually is when you lump in the rest of the cities in Illinois that don't have anywhere near the same murder rate as those three area's. Which is why people from certain area's claim to have a higher murder rate then chicago when they really don't. Your state may have a higher murder rate, but in terms of the murder rate city by city in comparison to chicago is no where close. Meaning that no city within your state, with the same population as the south/east/west side will have a higher murder rate. Not something to praise by any means, just something that is easily misunderstood when talking about chicago. Essentially no area in the country can compare to certain areas in chicago in terms of the murder rate.
