I love all these girls, with yuqi as my bias. Amazing voice, personality, and humor. In Korean, it's pronounced "oo-gi", and in Chinese it would be "yu-chi" where the ch sound is very light (front of your teeth rather than in the middle or back).

"I never die" was (G)I-dle's first full length album. The next album, set to drop in Nov/Dec, is also going to be full length. Yuqi drops a new cover every year on her birthday for the fans. September 23rd.

They went HARD on this album, so aggressive, I love it. And I feel like it was really personal to them like an answer to all of the haters and controversies and their trauma. Also wanted to notice that Liar and Polaroid was written and produced by Yuqi, and Escape and Already was made by Minnie (and ofc tge rest are by Soyeon). Yuqi is our little rock-star. Yuqi's songs: She has a single album "A page", the songs there are Giant (which she wrote by herself) and Bonnie and Clyde. She also has and ost for a web-comic "Not Cinderella" ost with Miyeon "sweet dream". On their recent concert she presented her new song "Could it be", you can find fancams. Also, there's coming Yena's comeback, and Yuqi is featured on the title track "hate rodrigo". Covers: She has some covers on their channel (easy on me, shallow, rise up, beggin', flowers). She was on "Lee Mujin's service" where she sang some beautiful covers. Also there's a legendary cover of hers and Minnie's on "Scared to be lonely" by Dua Lipa (which made me a Neverland). She was on a chinese survival show "Stage Boom", you can also check her perfomances there. I can list all of her works, but it will be a very long list, so I'll stop here.

With this album, the 5 have come to terms with the loss of Soojin, who was more or less fired from her label due to false accusations. That's why you can hear different feelings in the lyrics, the voices and the sound of the songs. Loss, Longing (Polaroid), Despair, Anger (Liar) and others

Both Yuqi and Minnie have dropped a lot of covers. Miyeon and Soyeon have each released an EP and Yuqi has released 2 singles. Everyone but Shuhua has also done songs with other artists. In Chinese, Yuqi's name is pronounced like "yoo-chi". In Korea she pronounces it more like "oog-ie" (the "g" in Korean is like a mix of a "g" sound and a soft "k" sound. )

so for this album minnie composed and wrote lyrics for escape and already and yuqi did the same for liar and polaroid and the rest was soyeon. my personal favorite of that album is escape and im pretty sure minnie said that she wrote the song for a friend who was going through a tough time and hoped the song would help the friend through it. not confirmed but the song seems to be written about soojin because minnie wrote the lyrics for it after soojin had left. Also for the next album i would recommend either I Love or I burn. I burn was before soojin left and many people say its their best album. Maybe check out the title track mvs though for i burn its Hwaa and for I Love its Nxde. Hwaa is a three part series including Hann (Alone) and Hann (Alone in winter). Minnie appeared on the 1st episode of "Lee Mujin Service" and it's the most viewed episode out of over 60 episodes. She will literally make you cry because her voice is so beautiful with the songs from that episode. Also, my favorite OST by Minnie is "Getaway". She really shines in that song.

Yuqi is unmatched seriously nobody comes close to her deep tones while still being able to sing so fluently in Korean/English. Can't wait for you to check out her solo work. I dont know anything about this group, but the girl named miyeon seems held back, her voice is kinda held back. Im pretty sure if that is the case, her real voice is insane.

I think that goes for most of them. If one goes off more than the others, the vibe becomes completely off. Soyeon just gets off of each member in just the right amounts. Miyeon could easily slot in a vocal only group because she's not the most technical dancer, same as Yuqi/Soyeon could just go full girl crush concept everytime, Minnie is easily indie artist solo singer material, Shuhua is less solo'ly developed so she needs the group. All of them combined makes them not the best dancers, nor the best singers, but they're just one of the more fun and performative type of groups. Hope you get to know them and sorry for the word vomit 😅

@@Nick66606 Its pretty rare for Soyeon, Minnie, or Yuqi as main producers to do harmonization or group singing moments tbh. Not alot of duets too. I think the mindset of them is to make each other heavily distinguishable and have each have distinct identities. Its on their main brand a 6 (5 now due to one member leaving) unique identities to form something unique. This is just my take on the matter however. Their newer stuff is heavy on the early 2000s vibe and instrumentals, some of their older stuff have varying diverse genres. If you're really into Miyeon she has a solo mini album up as well

6:51 I also love her voice, and that's not how you say it :D though almost everyone gets that wrong, so don't feel too bad. She uses the Korean pronunciation of her name, which is kind of like Woogie, whenever she is not speaking her native Mandarin. To my knowledge, she has never used the "you-key" pronunciation. Can you believe she was super insecure about her voice, as kids teased her she sounded like a man? She auditioned as a dancer, and it was only later that vocal trainers and Soyeon convinced her that her unique voice is one of her superpowers that she became to overcome this trauma. Anyway, her Bonnie and Clyde is phenomenal. I am also totally in love with her cover of Beggin'. But anything you pick will be good. :)

Now I think you should do yourself a favor and listen to "I Burn" and "I Love" hahaha both are GREAT albuns... Actually, their whole discography is so good, but they obviously got better and better. I am and I made have pretty good and solid songs, I trust has only two new songs (besides oh my god and lion) and both are so interesting. Their japanese tracks are on another level. But was from I Burn that their mini albuns reached masterpiece level. I'm pretty sure people already told you that Yuqi HAS solo stuff. Two songs and a bunch of covers. Miyeon and Soyeon also have solo albuns.
