The Fang’s partially melted side actually gives it a really cool quality. It looks like intentional battle damage which I’m sure the Fang would have it was a real Chopper. Overall it’s still a very nice looking toy and I think most GIJoe fans would be more than happy to display it in their personal collection. It’s always nice to see old toys getting a second chance on life!

As a kid playing with GI Joe, I always thought Destro was a real jerk to Cobra. GI Joe had really cool, good equipment, and Cobra's weapons supplier, Destro, gave them stuff that looked experimental, dangerous-to-operate, or like it came out of a parts bin. Anyway, great quick restoration, and nice shout out to Toy Pelloi!

Anyone else attempting this - avoid the use of the screwdriver! Tip, look at the replacement parts first, this will give you some idea as to how they fit. Second, check sources, such as @bloodforthebaron and pull up the original instruction leaflet, which will sometimes show the construction process. Sit the helicopter into a bowl or sink with very hot, not boiling water for 20-30 seconds, then wrap your fingers around what you can and pull slowly, but firmly forward towards the gun. Mine came straight out. Reverse the procedure with your replacements - sinking both copter and skids first. Great to see another broken toy loved again. @analogtoys superb donation Tony. Nicely done Michael 😀

I have a broken and now repaired engine guard that I’m currently trying to cram into place. The hooked part was broken and I put a pin from a paper clip in by heating and melting the holes then superglued it together. I’ve had to redo this once already from the stress it gets put through on install. Wish me luck I guess. Sorry to hear yours broke out of the box.

Hey Mike, I found that a quick hit with a hair dryer (not a heat gun, too hot) on the stickers will soften up the glue enough to use an EVA foam dowel to gently pull away the lint and hair works well for me. Might help if it bugs you as much as it does me lol. Just want to get it up to just above body temp.

@scotty_blocks5 жыл бұрын
Cool video and interesting see how the restoration is done. Word of advice, a disclaimer does not protect against COPPA rules unfortunately. If an algorithm/staffer from KZbin or the FTC decide content is for kids come January, then it's for kids as far as they're concerned; disclaimer or no disclaimer. The whole situation sucks and I hope your channel doesn't suffer because of the nebulous regulations.
@camcordernonsense52645 жыл бұрын
There's so much of that that stinks. It's my understanding an ftc member brought up the issue of third party content creators and the actual web site. We don't get shared data or info. We have no control over if they share or don't share data with creators. We don't get money for that. It's out of creators hands. Hopefully that is paid attention too.
@Aahz3215 жыл бұрын
I get the disclaimer the beginning but from everything I've seen and read on COPPA it's pointless. Even with it there is some beancounter at the FTC decides this is child "attractive" then it's going to get fined. It's no longer about if a kid would like it but would it possibly draw a kid to it regardless of reason.
