I have nothing but mad respect for Army Rangers. It was an honor to had a chance to train with a few during my career. They are tough as nails for sure. I love the different versions of Stalker you reviewed. They all look great even the modern versions.

Great video! Stalker was one of my favorite characters in the original 5 part GI Joe Series! Especially when he is doing the fake broadcast and Gung Ho starts playing with the toys.

Stalker is one of my favorites as he was one of my first four Joes - Stalker, Grunt, Snake Eyes and Flash (my first Joe). These four commandos went on many adventures in '82. Yo Joe!

The 25th anniversary figure's weapon is actually the M3A1 grease gun the file card mentions. It's a WWII submachine gun, so, like the pineapple grenades, was out of date even by 1982, but the Joes have always been a little behind the times (that's okay by me). Stalker's always been one of my favorite early Joes. I like that he was established right away as a mission commander, as he is one of the most cool-headed Joes. A Real American Hero #13 is one of the best examples of why Hawk trusts and respects him as a mission commander, because without even waiting for orders (they have no communications--strange considering Breaker is with him), he takes charge and establishes a perimeter, knowing they're in hostile territory. Great character.

Great vid as always! Regarding the Green Beenie, Stalker was SF in the Marvel series. In issue #22, he and many other Joes are seen in Class A uniforms for Gen. Flagg's funeral and both he and Snake Eyes are wearing green berets, and if I remember correctly, what appear to be the 5th SF Group flash. That jives with their shared service in Vietnam.

I remember getting Stalker way back in 82. The reason I chose him was the camo really stood out to me and he was my favorite figure. Not long after I discovered the Marvel GI Joe comic. The comic solidified Stalker as my favorite Joe character as well as my favorite figure.

I lost him in the sandbox as a child. Tundra Stalker became my default version. I considered him strong like a linebacker, lead a lot of rescue missions.

Hey Michael! I love your in depth look on the Original 13 Joe's. Just an FYI, I'm a US Veteran and I have noticed that you refer to the American flag on the right shoulder of some figures as being reversed. The reason for this is that the Stars and Stripes MUST always appear as if charging forward to confront the enemy on US military uniforms. IF the Stripes are forward of the Stars on the right shoulder it appears as if retreating. I have seen artwork within comics incorrectly draw the flag on the right shoulder but that's just a mistake.

Stalker is my favorite G.I.Joe character ever! Unfortunately I don't have the original figure of Stalker but I have 2 of the 25th anniversary Stalker figures with one being loose and one being packaged still! And when I was a kid, I had the talking Stalker from 1991 or 1992 when he wore the black beret and the yellow backpack with black camouflage!

Michael, Every time you make one of these reviews I see another Joe I need to pick up!😂😁 A friend I made on eBay had a mint Stalker loose complete he was going to sell and when he was taking pictures and posing the figure one of the arms broke off! He was devastated!!! Folks be so careful with the early Joes as they break off thumbs and limbs easier now being 40+ years old now. Great review Michael! Love these😁👍 Bill

Yeah I happen to agree with the sentiment on Stalker's primary weapon with the reissue. Especially considering the weapon they chose would have been something Cobra would have used considering it's a German WWII MP40 submachine gun. I would think of they were going to modernize it I would have gone with an HK416 varient of the M16 considering his specialty. But then I was in the army and I'm just being biased and picky. 😁

I agree that the head on the comic pack Stalker was too small. So, I had a custom guy help me out. I used the legs, waist and arms from the comic pack figure. Then I had the head & torso from the v1 Stalker (i had extra parts) painted to match the head & torso from the comic pack Stalker. The mold on both torsos are the same so the custom guy painted everything on the v1 torso exactly how it was on the comic pack torso....same with the head. He even painted the skin tone to match up. I also used the v1 gun. Just imagine your v1.5 Stalker with the comic pack colors. I wish that i could post it on here. The cat that did the custom paint job for me did a great job. I thought the head on the comic pack Baroness was too small as well.....so I also did another mashup where i took the body from the comic pack Baroness (blue uniform Baroness) and I took a v1 Baroness head and put the v1 head on the comic pack body. Looks like a vintage blue uniform Baroness.

I inly had the version 2 one, the one with the kayak…I’m reading the comics and am pissed that he was all but minimized to nothing in both cartoons as he’s an original guy and he had a hell of a backstory to the point that he was the true catalyst for the team coming together: no Stalker, no Snake-eyes!

One of my fave while i was a child and still a fave. I would like to work on a 12" custom and I wonder the same thing about about his beret being green. Shouldnt be beige since he is a ranger? it would even add a good mix to the colors.

Meh. The articulation of the newer figures is cool, but I much prefer the 80's toys. You can pose them pretty awesomely, if you're creative.
