Knowing nothing about Outback but being Aussie myself... Tiger Force wins. Love the shirt, and the eyes are better. Looks like he's feeling the outback sun; the new one looks like he's in a comfortably air-conditioned room in the city or suburbs. Cover Girl looks good, like an action-y but also casual character. But as soon as you showed the face, I noticed that *all of* the paint was applied too low. Definitely getting her off Amazon for easy returns thanks to the windowless packaging. Eyelids in the middle of the eyes bug me so much. I totally feel you about the makeup being too heavy. You'd think someone called Cover Girl wouldn't be using the Homer Simpson makeup gun 😅

When you put older Outback next to younger, it looked like the newer eyes had much larger irises. That might be part of why it looked "cartoony". If you have a steady enough painting hand, might be worth redoing them. Also, all three have much heavier, sloppier paint apps, making me think they were probably done at a different factory, or at least by less skilled workers.

10:30 It also looks like the eyes and eyebrows on your Cover Girl are printed too low as well, the sculpt lines for both those areas are visible above where the printing is. Cover Girl is the only one of this group that interested me, but honestly that face paint has really thrown me, plus it being windowless means I can't exactly check to see if it's better in person. Outback I'm good with the last version, and in the promo shots I didn't like the eye paint, and Falcon didn't interest me. The nice thing for me is that I'm not super invested in this property, so it's easy for me to pass certain ones by, but it is a shame about Cover Girl since I'm all for adding more female figures to the shelf, and the earlier offerings in that regard have been great.

QC issues are ruining Classified. I only hope that they're listening and resolve these for the next waves forth-coming because those next wave of figures are boss. I am seriously considering chem-wiping the "photo-real" paint apps on some of them and attempting to repaint to correct them.

Just a little military POV for ya, Robo, Falcon's shirt isn't untucked. The BDU (for battle dress uniform, for those who don't know) blouse - and yes, it's called a blouse - is worn like a button-down sport coat, more than a shirt. Hasbro's solution of having the bottom attached to the web gear makes sense from an engineering/figure development viewpoint, but it does still "read" a little odd, as you mentioned.

Cover Girl’s data pad is made for the screen to face outward. The holster for it has a tab that fits in the groove on the back of the pad.

I finally took a gamble and got Cover Girl. Face looks good, much better than others I've seen. Her shoulders were perfect, but I did get the upside down torso. I took her jacket off, popped off her torso, flipped it and then she was super wobbly. So I stuffed a little bit of paper in there and now she's perfect. I actually like her more now because I had to do a little troubleshooting.

I definitely want the outback for the strapping and accessories, definitely want that backpack. Falcon would be great for a custom Mando, scout with a shotgun. Cover Girl would be a great Mando base, would keep the Jacket and have the chest armor under it, probably sand down the collar. Some sholder armor could be glued to the top and cover the bicep without hindering.

Cover Girl’s face application is slightly shifted downward for har whole face. If it had been looking slightly downward it would have hit the mark. But honestly as much as I like these 6” Joes, hers and Falcon’s face are just throwing me off. Hope they look better in person.

After staring intently at various target python patrol figures last night, i can say they look weird due to the shoddy photo real. Out of ten, i found one that actually looked good. The rest were slightly misaligned or the paint wasn't evenly applied. Didn't help that the photo real was painted on black.

Neck ball is a different size from Lady Jay so swapping the neck with Movie Scarlett and Lady Jaye doesnt work, and the dumbell for head to neck stays in the head when you pop it apart.

I hope they will make a new head for the Night Force reissue of Falcon, or at least change the face paint. So I can switch the heads, and give the Night Force version with the ugly head a gas mask or night vision goggles to cover that mug. And for now when my pre-orders arrive I will put Falcon somewhere in the back with another Joe's arm or gun in front of his face. Great review once again Robo!

I've been looking forward to that classic Outback.....but.......having the TF version for as long as I have........I just prefer the older more experienced look and.....didn't even buy the classic one....I ended up buying two Covergirl figures because the first one's left arm would not stay on the shoulder and the face print was......just......rough...but the second one is all around absolutely........fine.....she's just fine.......she looks a little like Joan Rivers and I can't get over that but at least the print is done well and while I wish she had a softer and maybe younger looking face....it's Covergirl on my shelf.....oh yea....and I got Falcon.......I love the character...and I own the figure...and that's all I can really say about Falcon.....

Well with Wal-Mart getting Night Force and I believe Falcon was a part of that team we could get a new one there. That or the Sonic fighters as well. Recall a different look in the DiC episode that deal with a drug kingpin and the Joe's and Cobras actually teaming up to stop him. I ordered CoverGirl only recently so await her. Still need to get Falcon and Outback. Renaming the TF one. Downundah maybe?

I have a theory on the bigger heads, I think because they use the photo real Tech they've been basing head sizes on celebrities and celebrities from my experience all have larger heads compared to their bodies.

Falcon’s head/face feel like they were used for the wrong figure. Like it should have been used for General Colton aka “G I Joe”. Which would actually line up more with some of the other details on the figure. Such as the longer blouse. Because the Falcon figure looks like a mid to late 60’s GI Joe. Just with a beret instead of the pillbox cap.

Yeah, Cover Girl's definitely the star of the wave for me. I kinda dig old man Outback more, but frankly, they look so different in age that you could easily treat them as two separate characters, especially if you threw some minor accessories on one to change it up, or hell, just use the custom you made to be regular Outback, and have old man Outback be his uncle or something.

Robo, it looks like I won the face lotto on my trio compared to your versions of these. My Falcon looks normal/decent, and his factory date on the bottom of the foot is 22941. My version of Cover Girl also looks way better, and the code I have is 23021. She does have loose arm cuts, though, so any idea how to get those to stay on better?

It's the paint apps on Falcon and Covergirl that give pause. Covergirl is way over-made-up, and Falcon's lips just have too much colour. Another complaint I have about Falcon is that Hasbro should have given us an "upgrade" and forked over the $$ to get a proper tiger-stripe camo scheme on his uniform. Not a 2-tone pattern we got, but a more authentic 4-tone pattern--that would have plussed the figure immeasurably. It would have further disguised the re-use of Recondo's body as well. And, personally, I think that Tiger Force Outback is the better looking of the two, the whole figue just sings.

It’s the waist ( as well as the obvious face problem) that bothers me , bothers me on Recondo too, it’s just too narrow makes him look very thin, if you remember on the vintage Recondo he wasn’t fat by any means but he was kind of stocky so his waist was a little thicker, or it could’ve just been the crinkles and creases in his shirt, Falcon suffers from the same thing, Kind of lessens the figure for me,

Hasbro switched factories for this line and others, and it has led to numerous QC issues that were hitherto absent from Classified, almost entirely -- the straight cut at the shoulder has also been a massive let down, as has the mixing of harder and softer plastics at joints and upper torso. There's no way they aren't aware of this, so hopefully it will be rectified. My sense is that at the very least they will shift Classified back, but then again, if this is cheaper we may be entering a "take it and like it" phase for what was really a surpassingly good toy line in its first 2 1/2 years. If they don't address this it will be the classic publicly traded choice to prioritize short term profit and cost structure over long term profit and sustained success. Such is the bizarre nature of the shareholder. Economic situation doesn't provide a ton of optimism for any Hasbro properties. That said, I remain hopeful that they will reset and get back to the shockingly good QC we once banked on for these releases. Really, it's a damn shame that these problems are coinciding with the fact that Classified is finally widely available, even for exclusives.

Well stated......I was pretty much done with this company after the fckery during COVID, and I am shocked how loyal people still are...even with the price hikes, the lower quality, the firings, and Hasbro's record profits. Nostalgia is a powerful thing. I've switched to the vastly superior Action Force ....rarely will I get a GIJOE classified figure (Serpentor and Zarana were my last ones).....I was going to get Shipwreck till I saw how they messed up his face. Copperhead looks cool, but he'll have QC issues..I may pick him up in a year on clearance. I sold my Recondo because he couldn't even aim his rifle without it bending wildly due to the body and gear. Rock' n' Roll with his bendy guns (which they can't even straighten out for the pics) is just a cheap version of the superior Action Force Trigger. It's funny to watch Hasbro add exta hands, stands, and gun effects when they saw Valaverse do it....and then they released their inferior overpriced Sgt Slaughter after the Action Force version was released. Can't wait to see people meltdown when that HISS tank comes out and it starts to fall to pieces. The treads will be the first thing to go.

@@AugieRockero I prefer Classified to Action Force, which is a line of repaints, whereas Classified has more than 15 base bodies they’re pulling from. I do like both lines, but prior to the last wave, Classified had almost no QC issues. To each their own, but my problem with what’s happening now is that things were SO good and thus any persistent QC issue is a punch in the gut. AF has had its own QC problems from jump. End of the day, to me they are complementary lines and I don’t like the tribalism around them. That said, the Classified Slaughter is bigger, better proportioned, has a much stronger face sculpt. The AF figure is just another shared buck. So can’t agree there. But this is my opinion of course. I do think it’s a little funny to say Joe is derivative of AF when the current AF line is literally an homage to GI Joe, more than the OG AF. So the idea that Hasbro is copying Valaverse is a bit silly, outside of the blast effects…and even that was being done in other Hasbro lines.

@@smyers9052 Action Force revealed a ton of new upcoming items recently, including new bodies (larger ones too), alternate face sculpts, characters with cigars as accesories, etc...amazing new weapons like a mini gun and a 50 cal sniper rifle...they are a small company without Hasbro's resources, but get better every day. They address their QC issues and make improvements. I prefer a more realistic Sgt Slaughter (geared up soldier) than the cartoony drill seargent with the gummy accessories. Earlier Classified had better face sculpts and vibrant cartoony colors in comparison with Action Force, but the Action Force bodies, realistic and quality weapons, and tons of alternate accessories is what I prefer. Yes GIJOE came first, but Valaverse was first to include many things that Hasbro is just now trying to catch up on....and you know Hasbro would never have included those things if Valaverse had not come on the scene to make them nervous----with of course a major inflation excuse price hike.
