I would like to support you, but for me $35 a month is too much, i only earn £8 / $10 an hour, any chance of a cheaper option as other youtubers offer?

I believe the difference between the USA Deluxe and Standard is the choice in finishes, and the Deluxe comes with a case while the standard comes in a gig bag. Build quality is the same. I got mine used a few years ago for about 1/3 of retail price. It has a one piece ash body finished in natural gloss and a seymour duncan TB-4 in the bridge. Lefty. The neck on that guitar is amazing, plays flawlessly in any position. Love the neck profile and also the nut vs string spacing. Last night I disassembled it completely for cleaning, took the neck off and electronics to verify the official factory stamps. All there. Made in 2011. They make great value guitars, on par with top boutique brands that cost twice as much, or more. I really got lucky finding it in a Dutch store! Don't get a Tribute, get a used one :)

After 2 years with this same model I found that for me the best way to balance each pickup was to plug into my ME or DAW unit and turn off everything including the amp and speaker cabs. With all the 3 PTB controls at max pluck each string individually and read the input level meter to screw up and down each side. It turns out that given the beefiness of all 3 pickups, now all of them are way down on the bass side vs how originally they came from factory. Now I can jump between different amp models more easily without having to do drastic changes. Also, the PTB control is now way versatile.

Had to come back here and say thank you for all the excellent reviews on G&L guitars. I finally made the plunge and today I received from Sweetwater my own Fullerton Deluxe Legacy HSS in Ruby Red Metallic just like the one in this video. What a joy!

@@JonIsJustTooLoud I have a question for you Mr. Koh, given that you have the ability to test so many guitars frequently, do you think G&L is doing something special with the shielding and grounding in this guitar? I’m amaze out how reasonable quiet it is with the single coils, specially given that the middle is not reverse wound, reverse polarity. What I notice is that as long as I keep touching the string or the bridge, the hum is greatly reduce. The only other regular single color guitar I have for comparison is a 90’s American strat and the hum in that one is so much greater. Does G&L is doing something special here?

What a beauty! That's the Strat sound I'm looking for a long time. But there is pretty much hum in it 😉. And the color is - if i had a big block Hot Rod it had to have this color!. Wonderful playing and a great review as usual. Stay well and be blessed ☮️

I got the feeling you really enjoyed playing that one Jon. It’s so stunning. I feel that G&L are a cut above the Fender/Squire just going by my experience with the Fallout Tribute I own and the US 50th Anniversary Strat I used to own. They also have a knack of making a wonderful coil split tone that for me sounds exactly like a Strat bridge . Just ordered an Asat tribute deluxe. 😊

Hi Jonathan. Yet another superb G&L Guitar demo. I found a second hand G&L Legacy some time back. Mine is the 3 single coil version as you would find in a Strat style guitar. As you mentioned in your review it has the usual high end G&L quality. The Alnico pickups on this guitar have a bit more bite than my other MFD loaded G&Ls and as you also mentioned they produce the typical out of phase "quack" in positions 2 and 4. It certainly gets its fair share of playing time in amongst my other G&Ls. So Jonathan if storage space and cost were not an issue, which of the G&Ls that you have reviewed would be added to your collection? Espada? Doheny V12? Fallout? Legacy? ASAT Special? SC2?...???

Great sounding guitar and very tempting , a bit dissapointed at the standard tuners, they should be locking ones on a high end model at £1299 / $2295 Singapore dollar that is serious money for what you get, if i ever win the lottery......

@Barbarapape4 жыл бұрын
@@JonIsJustTooLoud I agree, the tribute models are not made to the same spec as the USA ones, the bridges , switches are pots are of poor quality, "Know your Gear" has a youtube video showing how to upgrade them, Phil suspects that they are made in the same factory as Squire.
@dumaflotchy133 жыл бұрын
Aron, go to Ebay & buy a used USA made. I did TWICE, you won't regret it in the long run. Awesome quality for the money.
@dingusfuzzklonnkt27553 жыл бұрын
Aron, used Fullerton models are the best deal in guitars you're going to find. That first trade in takes a $1500 down to $750-$800 the shop will then sell the guitar for under a grand. I picked up a custom ordered tangerine metallic legacy, with the logo delete, locking tuners, hardshell case in mint condition for $975. The tributes are good guitars but are completely different instruments from the Fullerton line. The necks on the guitars are night and day.
