Great demo, I saw your demo of the Sterling Short Scale too, which one would you pick in terms of playability and sound? I am having a hard time deciding between the two. I have seen some people say the Sterling SS was a bit poor on the fit and finish in some cases. Also, where's this bass made?

They both play great ... soundwise there will always be a lot of personal preference and taste involved. The G&L will sound more like a Fender Mustang/Precision while the Sterling will sound like a Music Man, you decide! Oh, both basses were born in Indonesia! :-)

@@bassbonedo2158 Thanks for that, I already have a fender jazz so I think a sterling sound might give me a wider range of sounds from the sound of it. Great playing btw, you make it look totally effortless :)

A big difference is the neck. At the nut the G&L is like a Precision, while the Sterling has the Jazzbass slim neck dimensions. So for me (or my small hands) the G&L is out. Even so I must say that I really love the Yellow G&L ... reminds me of the Ibanez guitars (RG550) from the 80s and I always wanted a bass with that kind of look :-) !

@@phipschi4255 Oh yes absolutely. Still, after checking out a Mustang Bass with a slim neck, I think Long Scale Basses with slim Jazz type necks are best for me.

according to the sweetwater weights its weighs roughly the same as a long scale, so a tad heavier than other shorties

I managed to get a black one and the body is poplar. It weighs 8.4 lbs. Slightly heavier than my Mustang. I'm 61 years old and use it regularly gigging so it's definitely a doable weight. I imagine the basswood ones are even lighter.
