To get the Dickey Betts sound play G pentatonic major with the added 4th (C) scale degree. (G, A, B, C, D, E)

To sound like Dickey you'd play the g major pentatonic & harmonize with the hexatonic

@@michaelsteven1090 You're right, but the pentatonic scale omits the 4th and the 7th of the major scale. It's only five notes of the major scale, hence "penta." So just add the 4 to sound more like Dickey.
