Meike 85mm f1.4 is a successor to the Meike 85mm f1.8 lens which was not that great, but the Meike 85mm f1.4 is better in every single way, including the build quality and of course image quality. Meike 85mm f1.4 is 100 grams lighter than the Sony 85mm f1.4 GM, it has great sharpness at f1.4 even in the corners, awesome bokeh thanks to the 12-bladed aperture, almost zero chromatic aberrations and fast and reliable autofocus. I found only 3 main drawbacks of the Meike 85mm f1.4 - the minimum focusing distance is only 98cm, focus breathing is quiet noticeable and the lens itself is a bit bulky, other than than I'm really satisfied with the Meike 85mm f1.4. This lens is Canon L lens quality, but don't know about sharpness cz it's tested on 12 mpxl body only, great review though, but we'd like to see a test on a 24 mpxl sensor

@jklbd4815, I have it on my Nikon Z8 (45 mp). The sharpness is great at f1.4. Absolutely pin sharp at f4.

I can chime in from a Nikon user (Z8). Meike clearly doesn't have AF dialed in on the Nikon version, as your Sony-version. I have the newest firmware (1.34) and did the same face-in-frame test you did (albeit indoors), and it performed much, much worse. I know it's not my camera, as my 24-120 f4 a very fast and accurate. The Meike hunts and is very slow.

It was Viltrox 27mm f1.2 on my Sony FX30 camera

Sony just updated their 85mm GM. It's now smaller, lighter, faster, more accurate and sharper. Meike and Samyang need to try harder.

What firmware are you on? v1.34 is the latest one. I just finished shooting a comparison of 1.33 and 1.34, but haven't got the chance to review my footage.
