For the Americans watching this. In Japan April 8th is a flower festival to celebrate the birth of Buddha. This confection is called "Gosen" and is made by wrapping five types of bean paste, bean paste, koshi bean paste, miso bean paste, white bean paste, and sesame bean paste, and sprinkling five colors of steamed soboro, which is associated with ancient times.
