Up till now, I have 4 knives from Sakai Takayuki. They are very sharp and they are truly a work of art. I really appreciate what all the masters and artisan have done.

One of the best knives i've ever had, the kengata gyuto from Sakai. Slices everything like a butter, also Ryusen Hamono makes really good knives.

How type Steel is made this knife?
@andrewdow16092 жыл бұрын
99% of all steel in Japan is made in bulk at steel plants and sold in "blanks" to the blacksmiths. Those are then worked into knives, which can involve combining several of those blanks to get a hybrid of steel. Only a tiny % of blacksmiths make their steel in the traditional way from 100s of years ago, and if you ever found one, you'd be waiting years for a knife or a sword and they'd cost about $5000 each and go way up from there.

You pay for quality. Always make sure you're getting the real product! A lot of people try to sell fake Japanese knives! Only order the real deal! Sakai Takayuki is 100% the real deal and worth every penny!
