“宮さん宮さん (Miya San Miya San)” - Imperial Japanese War Song

Miya San Miya San (My Prince, My Prince) is a Japanese march dating from the Boshin War and Meiji restoration in 1868. It is widely considered to have be the first western-style march ever made in Japan. The Prince referred to is Prince Arisugawa Taruhito, head of the Arisugawa branch of the Yamato Imperial Dynasty, and first head of the Imperial Japanese Army during the Boshin War.

It's rather ironic that this song is firmly anti-shogunate with blatant mention of the Satcho alliance that formed, along many clans, the bulk of Imperial Forces.

The Empire was the opposite of the Shogunate, with the Imperialists (pro empire guys) being anti Shogunate and winning against them in the war that this song originates from, the Boshin War.

If Japan won the war, Japan would control the education system in the empire. Japan would teach work ethics and transfer technology and innovation, SE Asia would be developed and rich now. What SE Asia lack is technology and innovation in which Japan can teach. With Japan and a leader, greater East Asia co prosperity sphere would be a super power, even more powerful than America now. People would use Japanese as a second language or first language, not English

Yeah. Japan was pretty much in favor of getting asian allies like Siam. Siam was a pro japanese kingdom you may know today as Thai Kingdom. Japan's whole point of war was - 1: Getting resources for war against China 2: Countering Europeans 3: Unite Asia and create puppets Japan's whole propaganda machine was that. Like, they wouldn't even go to war if they didn't have any reason. Japan's whole point with annexed lands, like Korea or Taiwan, was "Assimilate into japanese culture and religion, and enlist in the IJA/IJN" There was a ton of koreans fighting for Japan, as it aimed to centralize empire and ensure no revolt happen. Japan was violently taking down any resistance. Sometimes it's army would get a bit psychotic, resulting in Nanking, Japan hid that to not get revolts not only outside of Japan, but in the home islands as well. In result, world found out about their war crimes only after Japan capitulated. Hundreds of officers, generals were punished, so were Shiro Ishii and Tojo Hideki. But not emperor - he is a core part of Japanese government. Remove emperor would just get Japan to have unrest and collapse, since even during Sengoku he still prevented Japan from basically committing seppuku.
