g.o.d - To Mother (live) in 1999

It was one of g.o.d.'s first stages after they debuted. You can see that they were extremely nervous and put so much extra effort to their choreography thanks to their enthusiasm. Taewoo was only seventeen years old then. I also uploaded "Hard to Say I'm Sorry" which they sang after this song.
"To Mother" is famous for its lyrics and is still often parodied (especially the part where mother says she does not like black bean noodles). It decribes the mother's sacrifices for her son in a harsh and difficult situation after she becomes a widow. g.o.d. members still choose "To Mother" as their #1 song before "Lies" and "The Road."

If you listen to them tell the story of how they were formed and their trainee days, it's even more amazing that they even made it, let alone stamp their mark on K-pop in the way that they did. Nowadays you audition at a big company like SM or whatever and get assigned to a group or dropped if they think you aren't good enough. god was basically a motley crew of Joon and 4 teenagers + JYP as their producer/vocal coach/composer/hyung/consultant.

Joon immigrated to US and his father died few years later. His min had to had two jobs to make ends meet. She was working at a factory and there were few Korean immigrants who shared lunch together.
