This masterwork exemplifies what even white-bread Grove says of Telemann: rich harmony, elegant counterpoint, folk-like melodies. Unlike others, here, I would place this work towards the end of Telemann's "middle period": roughly, around 1735. Telemann composed well enough into the year of his demise -- 1767. And furthermore, I think this music every bit as fine as the best of Bach and Handel, both of whom were Telemann's personal friends. Those masters knew, all right.

Lol I just bought this album yesterday and also the dresden concerto's....... Very great recording, I feel Pisendel is very underrated

Great music! No conventions anywhere, fun, beautiful and constantly interesting. Only the hypercreativ Telemann could compose somthing like this and it must have been in his very advanced age. Thanks a lot!

I guess this is a late work by Telemann? Pisendel was a great friend of Telemann

Interesting. An album devoted to Pisendel, with three of his works. And a 4th by Telemann. I wonder why? Perhaps they ran out of works by Pisendel? In any case, I hope you upload those three works in the future.
