You guys must of got defected ones on the G boom 1 and 2 I have both they sound the same never had no problems cutting out or rattles whit any of them they sound really good and good bass too get 80$ speaker that sounds real good hard to get the sound does not destort at all evryone asks me about them ,I mean I no the main brands out there are goin to sound great but these ones sound real good for the price and there loud ,I've had speakers that were more expensive and they gave out on me Whiting a year G 1 ben whit me for 4 years the 2 for a year and no problems I dont no what you guys do whit them but it's all good on mine

Do you have to fully charge the speaker in order to get good sound quality ? Can you notice if there is a difference of sound quality when the battery does not have a good charge ? Have you compared it to other big bluetooth speakers ? Or have you compared it to an actual boombox ?

I noticed you have a UE Boom in the background. How does the G boom compare in terms of loudness. I'm looking for something that could play in a gym for a PE class. I have two UE booms, one wasn't enough and played at high volumes constantly caused one to blow.

I'm spreading the word: Stay away from the G-Boom 2 -- it cuts back on every single thing that makes the G-Boom great. All the metal parts are now plastic, all of the rubberized parts are now plastic, the tie-downs are gone, the EQ is gone, there's a terrible hiss in the tweeter, the bass sounds tinny, it rattles, USB phone charging is gone, it STILL uses a proprietary charger (not USB-C) in 2020, the battery only lasts around 6 hours, and the power cuts out at higher volume levels... But it has an FM radio built in now, so all is forgiven, right? (Please note my sarcasm).

This speaker does sound good. The bass sounds good as long as there is a wall or two around. It is good in open environment too just not the same bass as a room or contsined area
