Wow, I'm a little curious where are you from? you know a lot of Chinese culture, that's really amazed me. Many foreigners know Chinese culture elements are kongfu or something whatever plants, but rarely know this deep culture things of plants. Actually, to chinese, plum, orchid, bamboo, chrysanthemum are the most important plants in our culture, you can find them in every type of arts. Because they are not only beautiful plants, but also have the gorgeous personality we appreciate. They are "傲,幽,坚,淡",which means firmly, indifferent to fame&wealth, stong and humble. Guqin values calmness in the mind. Hope I'm not too chattering.😊

@@Meow-st2ru I'm from the U.S, studying 中文 in highschool; I researched the Chinese cultural meanings of flowers because I was making a craft for my teacher who had cancer. The title 梅花三弄 roughly means "Plum Blossoms, a piece in which the main theme is played three times with different overtones". The oldest surviving guqin tablature for this piece can be found in "Quxian Mystic Tablatures(臞仙神奇秘譜)" compiled by Zhu Quan in 1425, although this piece was mentioned in older sources. It was originally composed for flute, later transcribed for guqin. The flute composition has been lost.

@Dave WA Certainly not, they had wars (civil wars mostly) that put most of the western ones to shame in terms of brutality. You only think that western history is less peaceful because you've only been exposed to a historical narrative constructed by sycophants who discredit their own history in order to appear more virtuous than they are. This isn't a quip at you, but keep in mind that most of the things you've learned about european history is propaganda.
